View Full Version : Even Paper Flowers Will Wilt Away

Come fate, beseach my weary soul,
Carry me off to a land anew
Of origami roses and starlit skies.
Ne'er to dream as lovers do.

A land of simple imagination,
Where all dreams alas are true,
Where butterflies so oft are seen.
Ne'er did an angel strike me like you.

A land where I am hers,
A land where know I belong,
Where love is love, is forever.
Ne'er I thought of a sweeter song.

A land away from this place,
Here where no good can stay.
No, not in such a lonesome tomb.
Ne'er I thought you'd fly away.

Paper gardens, all ablaze,
No, not a home for a butterfly,
Paradise visions, all to fade.
Ne'er I thought love could die.

My once perfect garden,
To you now I saw goodbye.
Farewell origami roses, memories ablaze.
Ne'er I thought I'd lose my butterfly.

Beautiful Josh, love it. One minor point, to me the last verse would scan better without the 'I' in the last line.

Beautiful Josh, love it. One minor point, to me the last verse would scan better without the 'I' in the last line.

Given that it could, it was not my intention.
I was aiming for parellelism. An element to portray a thought more and more as well as denoting it's importance to the piece itself.
Losing the "I" thus removes the point I'm aiming to show of me losing Eryka.

@Max: Thank you! (:
