Well, well, it appears I have a virus. Actually, I've had a different version of the same virus a while back, but I was able to remove it manually with no problem. But this virus won't let me get into the task manager (I tried getting to it from run, and from keyboard shortcuts. It says the program is corrupted and won't let me run it.) to kill the processes.
So then I tried downloading a program to clean it up, but once I downloaded the program the virus, again, wouldn't let me run it.

I picked up the virus under one user on a vista pc. Weird thing being that under other users there are none of the annoying popups.

So how on earth am I supposed to beat this thing?

Either boot into safe mode and try and run a system restore operation. (If you have issues booting into a GUI safe mode, or can't run a restore operation from the GUI safe mode, boot into the safe mode command prompt and type: "%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" then follow the on-screen instructions).

If even safe mode doesn't work, you're going to need an installation disk (Don't worry, we're not re-installing) Boot to the disk, and look for a tools or similar option, find the button that says 'System Restore' and continue from there.

You could try uploading an infected file to http://www.virustotal.com/ . That will help you find out exactly what virus it is, then you can download a remover off the internet or from your own antivirus software.
