Do ya'll think we will ever have a black president?

It is inevitable. The only limiting factors to what race or sex could become president are the partitioning or destruction of the country. So tell me Str8, what black president do you think is most likely to become president?
J.C. Watts? Condoleeza Rice? Shannon Reeves? Mychal Massie? Or are you an Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson man? (I predict long lists of names in future posts on this thread.)

jesse Jackson or Condeleeza Rice

of course the united states will one day have a black president.
saying they won't means that you believe racism will never be defeted.
and by the time our children have children....i think that racism in the united states will be but a blur in the past.
at least, I hope.

Why the hell wouldn't you have a black president?!
Skin colour is irrelivant, it is about who is better for the job.

Well It should be based on skill, but there are some racists out there. I though Condoleeza Rice was like Indian. But if she is put into the elections I hope she wins.

Jesse Jackson is the exact opposite of Rice! Would you favor libralism or conservatism? I believe in the "middle ground" personally. Rice or Jackson do not fall into that category.

I lean left, but consider myself moderatly independent.
to me, the most important electoral issue is the midterm anyway.
whos in congress is WAY more important then whos president.
laws and polocies can only be passed with the support of your representitive and senator.
not many people really consider them anymore.
i think rice is an allright candidate.
but i'm a clinton fan myself.

as long as the black guy is born in the united states than they'll let him go in the elections because if you don't you can't become the president

kolte
April 28th, 2006, 01:12 PM
well theres more restrictions then just being born.
you have to be, i think, 36 years old.
have lived in the united states for the past 14 years.
been born in the united states.
and a cuple more i believe.

I think Senator Borack Obama, would be perfect for president... will never forget his speech at the 2004 democratic primaries...so powerful

it won't matter.

maybe eventually. not now, there is far too much racism for a black prime minister to be voted in.

Condoleeza Rice sounds like a Mexican dish... anyways we will have one its just that no body steps up! and i dont think its fair that u have to be born here to be the president I mean at least u had to be here before u were 18 cause i came here when i was 7

May 16th, 2006, 06:02 PM

A quick note about the racism being defeated thing...

I don't think racism will ever be completely defeated.

Humans look for something to fight about. And race is a perfect thing, because it is fairly easy to convince people that blame for something can be put on a certain race.

Note: I am not a racist. I want racism to be overcome, but I don't think that there is much proof that it could ever be completely eliminated.

However, I do think that there will be a black president. Just like I believe that there will be a woman president.

i think the closest we've ever come to a black president was when jesse jackson ran. But unfotunately he made a side comment about the jews in New York. If it wasn't for that i think we would of had a black president.

ok, first thing, i dont think jesse would have won because our nation still is pretty inmature. I hope that there is a black president soon, but there are still too many old conservative racists. I would have to agree with the comments previously said about how racism will NEVER go away and we will just have to deal with it. But i do believe that we are improving and hopefully we will hav a black president

To me it does not matter what colour my prime minister is it just matters on the policies he/she represents.

Condi Rice is running in 2008, ;)

July 5th, 2006, 09:42 PM
to me it doesnt matter what color the person is in office. i dont not wnat her in office though for the fact that she works in bush's admin and she is republincan. if this is a women being president thing too then why not just pick HILLARY CLINTON

kermit
July 5th, 2006, 10:09 PM
Hillary Clinton all the way! I think shes a fantastic candidate!

I think, just like there will be a woman president, that some day there will be a black president. And when I can vote, if there is a black individual running and I think they are a good candidate I will vote for them.

Well I dont live in the US

But I think yes there should be a black president! Its completly illogical that there hasnt been a black president in the US history, ohh wait no its not seeing as there is still racism in the US and many other countries ( including my home country )

i hope its condi vs hilary in 2008 cus then either we will have a female president or a female black president. A win-win situation!!!!!!

Hyper
July 11th, 2006, 04:35 AM
Now a black president would be a miracle a female president would be a smaller miracle but a black and female president would be the mark of a new era..

July 11th, 2006, 09:58 PM
yes im all for having a black and female president but i just dont like have condi rice preforms things and plus she is in bush's admin which is the worst part. a female is going to get into office in 2008 and it is going to be hillary clinton. many people dont seem it like her but she is the best choice for what the country is going through right now and she can fix bush's problems. condi rice helped create bush's problems cause shes in his admin (well not create problems) but shes part of it so she wont do much better. so hillary 08' one again lol
