At what age do you think it would be okay to tell the child that he/she have two fathers and everyone else doesn't?
--
I don't think gays should be able to adopt, because maybe I'm "old-fashioned" but I believe that there is a mother and a father. A male and a female.
Other than that it would just be strange for the child.

No offense to anyone.

well, it may tromatise the poor kid. i mean he would have to conform to being gay, even if he isnt. when mothers day comes around and the kid dont have a mother he is in some amount of trouble. the kids will insently make fun of him and the teachers may act distent or ackward around him, some parents of his male friends may not want him at their houses. stuff like that

wow this question really puts me to the test...
everyone deserves to raise a child if they want to no matter what their sexuality is but then you also have to think about the child... i seriously dont know.
yeah, like the question should parents be allowed to name their children retarded names like star or apple, no it would ruin the child socially

hmm, i dont know. the people who think that they shouldnt have a good point...but then again, who is to say no to some1 who wants a child? i think that they should, until someone has something to change me mind... :D

Of course they should. Some people are worried about having an unconventional family, but there are already tons of children who grow up with no mother or no father and they turn out fine. The child wouldn't have to "conform to being gay" they would grow up with it. If nothing else, it could bring for a more tolerant nation.

but why give them another reason?
I think having the dreams come true for two people justifies the possibility of one person being unhappy (<child)

but why give them another reason?
i do admit that it would be bad to give children another reason to make fun of someone, but this would make the child stronger and if anyone hurts them, the child would be strong enough to defend his/her self.
and think about it, most bullies have either been molested, or abused at a young age, and its only a matter of time before a generation finds that out and explots it.

I have no predjudice against gays but the child being adopted would probably end up being harrassed by the stupid children of this world and it would be rly weird for the kid. It could cause to much strain on the child

March 20th, 2005, 01:52 PM
i understand what you are saying,
but as time goes on, there would be more and more gays becoming open, so then children will for a while be harrassed ect. but then as time goes on, that will fade and all will be well
to be honest, the same thing kinda happend to kids (like me) with glasses, that all fades away

Why? What's wrong with gay people? If anything they'd raise one accepting child.

there is nothing wrong with gay ppl but there is something wrong with the straight views on gay ppl and this would make the child subject to scarring harrassment

so you think its okay if the child is mizzerable as long as the two dads r happy?!?!?!?
(I'm sorry I have nothing against gays but for the kids sake they need a male and a female role model in there life)

Before I write anything I am truley sorry if anything of this represents religon...aynwho....I beleive a child should have a Mom and Dad....when they are young, for when they grow up they won't grow narrow minded thinking that being straight is wrong, all I'm saying is that if two gay guys adopt a child they might pressue them to be gay, and be like them, and thats not right since we live in a free country, and every child has a choice to be what they want to be.

They do NOT have the right to do that to a child I don't give a fuck if there happy or not, there adults they should understand that they do not have the right to do that to a child. I understand that being gay isn't a choice but a child is for a straight couple where the child can have a mom and a dad and if you ask me sibblings to for healthy development. I understand that homes aren't perfect I mean lmao look at my life. But having two dads would cause a TON of rideculling, confusion, embarassment, not to mention the other kids would basically banish him. When he or she hits puberty and there straight they could feel guilty that there not like there parents and try to be sumthin there not. It would be hell for the kid espically once they hit there teens.

i have no problem with gays but i dunno about them being able to adopt. the kid would get teased horribly at school and he may turn guy when hes older (nothing wrong with that but the child shouldnt be influenced by his/her parents

today its becoming more and more accepted so in a few decades, there will be hardly any prejudice towards them. like how the black people were oppressed in the 60s, but that all changed thankfully

If a gay person can vote, they should be able to adopt, a gay man has the same parenting ablility as a straight man.
