One of my friends told me I was anorexic, and some people with eating disorders I've met say the same thing. I've never been diagnosed, but I know I have some form of an eating disorder. I'm still at a healthy weight though. I would have to lose 8 pounds to be underweight. Is it possible to be anorexic while still at a healthy weight? Also, would a psychiatrist have to tell a person's parents if they were diagnosed with an eating disorder?

Have you been eating as you should, or do you tend to skip these little elements in your life? And i think that the psychiatist would tell your parents because it's to do with your health and your safety so i would suggest that you see one anyways just to be on the safe side of these things, if they did tell your parents it's so they can look after you, but get help while it's not to late because eating disorders are a very serious matter...

Technically no. The definition of anorexia includes an extremely low BMI (i think it's like 16)
That does NOT mean you don't have a problem.
I think psychs have to tell. One of the things that they have to tell is if you're a danger to yourself. An ED is dangerous, and can be fatal.
8lb from "underweight" is still very thin, and unless you're built very slight, you're probably starting to feel some of the effects from being underweight.

I think that you should see someone as this is very serious, if you do have a problem then how long will it take to lose the 8 pounds? Well i dont think that you want to know. Start to eat before it gets so serious then you wont even have the choice.
