She acts nicey nicey with my friends... but then..

Okay, first off, i'll admit I complain about how horrible my mum can be to me, and she can be pretty horrible at times, sometimes even slightly verbally/emotionally abusive. She conciders me ungreatful, idiotic, stroppy, childish, deformed and aload of other things she has said to my face.
Then my friends come over, and shes the nicest woman on earth...
One of my friends even keeps going to me 'omg idk how you go on about your mum like that, shes lovely'
and sometimes its like... yeah just because she doesnt bite my head off infront of you like my dad did, doesn't mean shes a perfect.

Guess I just wanted to vent, anyone elses parents do this? =/

Same thing with me. If i have my friend over. She always says, "You're moms the nicest in the world! What the hell are you talking about, Shes not mean!"
Pff yeah, wait until you leave.

She is just trying to make a good impression. Some consider it rude to say mean things and complain infront of people not in the family. So this is completely normal.
My advice is to just enjoy her nice side when you are with your friends and when she is alone perhaps you could tell her how you are feeling. Shes never going to change if you stay silent. You could write her a letter if speaking to her is too hard for you.
