I'm getting the impression that the majority of teenagers are rock and metal kids, and this site being no exception. But I'm gonna try my luck anyway and ask: Are you guys if any of you are into proper rave music (proper meaning trance not included )?
C'mon! People our age was born when the jungle scene was buzzin' but few even know about it, and that's a real shame. I'm tired of people not know what the heck I'm talking about, so give me some confidence that beat/bass culture has a least rubbed a little of to our generation

Me and my friends have rave parties, ALL THE TIME! We do it to the most random music too.

I can't stand raves, the music gives me headaches and the fashion look sridiculous to me.

I'm not talking about rave parties with weird clothes and drugs and all. I'm just referring to break beat and garage and sub genres thereof, mainly originated from the British and European electronic music underground.

Lol, when I said rave parties, I meant we listen to either random Techno music, music with a good beat and stuff, and just have fun dancing :D

I love raves, but i'm not sure I'm thinking the same as you lot, in england a true rave is a protest of freedom, we travel hundreds of miles to a forest, a field, a warehouse. wherever. Whenever.
We dance all night, stomping away the anxiety and pressures which collect in everyday life.
"I can't stand raves, the music gives me headaches and the fashion look sridiculous to me."- In england, raves do not revolve around fashion, noone at a rave Gives a shit about what other people may think about thier appearance, the way they dance they way they live. Its not about that and its never been about that. The rave culture is a celebration of individuality, freedom of choice. I have been to countless "illegal raves" I:e Free parties I've never once seen people looking at each other trying to judge.
"Are you guys if any of you are into proper rave music (proper meaning trance not included )?" Mate, not meaning to sound harsh or anything here but ....not including trance? so. um, the majority of the raves i've been to have hardTRANCE or psyTRANCE Blaring out of the bins. trance is a stable of the rave culture. However, I've heard jungle at raves occasionally. can be fun, but you cant really stomp to it...
as for not talking about raves that include drugs or crazy clothes....um...well. you clearly havn't been to an Actual rave then, which by definition is illegal, hence has lots of mad people gurning like maniacs on a variety of illicit substances...
now, I appreciate that you all enjoy your own thing, but i don't like to see the word rave misused, so now, class begins.
First lesson. If you don't know what i mean when i say " FUCKING HUGE STACK" then you havn't been to a proper rave.

Listen to these songs, with the videos. and you may begin to understand what a rave truly is.
LENGO-life in X (thetford forest party 08 played through a 25 k rig) party nearly got shut down, but there were too many of us so bacon just contained it and left us to party!

These guys used to be the ultimate Group in england, catering for many ravers, unfortunately they've now gone commercial....which effectively translates as "have turned to shit"

A rave is LIVE djing, in which the Connection between the Djs and the ravers is EVERYTHING.
Although, personally, i love dj's who fuck with the ravers using fake drops. fake drops are simultaneously a pisstake and a joy.

And finally, the tune that I have stomped to hardest in my life, at my mates 18th birthday party, which was in a field. in the middle of fucking nowhere, with about....250 people.

Enjoy them. Enjoy the parties. And, if you have the possibility, I advise all you so called ravers to come to Norfolk, England...see how we do it ;)
p.s If pacman had effected us as kids, we would all now be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetetive electronic music ;)
Peace, unity, love, STOMPITY STOMP.
oh yeh p.s again lol me walking back from my mates 18th :P that was a right mission. But the doves helped me fly home.

I hate metal - its icky.
I like electropop and electrohop - better than piddly pop and a refreshing change from the now tired hip hop format.

Haven't been to one, sadly.
They're few and far in my area.
I LOVE the music though.
Techno, electronica, trance, dance, rave, etc.
It makes me happeh ^_^
