Sorry if this is the wrong place. Please do move :)
I was just wondering how many people here suffer from a phobia, or more then one.
I suffer from: Autophobia. (fear of being alone)

That's what I suffer from. or Agoraphobia... I haven't had a panic attack in a few months but if you worry about it then you know how it is..Last summer my dad was in NYC and wanted me to go out there with him, so he had to fly from NYC to LA then I went back with him and to come back home he had to fly with me. It's really a pain in certain situations, I can be alone with people and places I am familiar with, but something new is a task..

I can't actually find anything about it online, but I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist recently. I can't stand it and want to beat it. I will. One day... Until then to be perfectly honest, many aspects of my life are being put on hold.

Agoraphobia is hell, I was told by a doctor that I suffer from it, but later on was diagnosed by a psychiatrist for something different. I have two family members that aren't immediate family who suffer from agoraphobia. I know it must be hard on many aspects of life.

Fifty bucks says at least 40% of the people here claim to have a phobia of clowns.
But I'm super claustrophobic and...whatever heights is. I dunno. But I get really freaked out just walking down open stairs. It's pretty pathetic. :(
EDIT: I guess I have a fear of ventriloquist dummies? I dunno, my brother had one, and whenever it was out in his room I wouldn't go in the room at all. I was terrified of it. And phobia is defined as fear that is so persistent and strong the person goes out of their way to avoid the stimulus.

I have to say, I highly doubt that people actually suffer from so many things. Yeah, there's things you don't like, but ask yourself if you get phobia symptoms on all of them, like in extreme cases where it's actually recognised as a phobia, you'd know about it. People are clearly categorising common dislikes as phobias.

I think maybe hydrophobia, I am really afraid of large bodies of water, and hate going into them( I barely do) I think this is bcuz my parents bought me a book about the titanic when I was younger, and ever since I've been afraid of the sight of below water, and really deep water, and boats
Im also afraid of heights, and im rlly claustrophobic

Eisoptrophobia.
Fear of mirrors.
I first disliked them and then I went into one of those weird mirror mazes... I started having a panic attack and broke down while my mom and friend dragged me out. I'm okay when I'm with someone around like just a normal mirror, but being alone with a mirror in the room scares the shit out of me.
Same goes for windows. Defenestraphobia.
those are pretty much my only real phobias, I have other things that I feel afraid or uneasy about but aren't as bad like:
Arrhenphobia - Fear of men (even my relatives, although I'm getting better)
Autophobia - Fear of being alone.

But if actually knew some of us, you would understand that some of us just so happened to have experiences as children with these things. But that doesn't necessarily result in a phobia. A person can be uncomfortable, uneasy, or even afraid of something without it being considered a phobia. Not to mention, with some of the lengths of these lists, some of these people must have had the fucking unluckiest childhoods ever.

Gametophobia, or fear of marriage; for me, it seems, more or less extending to the concept of family and committed human relationships in general. Other than that, the usuals - spiders, ants, insects... when I was younger, I used to be deathly afraid of the number '0'. It felt like a black hole of sorts, open and posed to swallow me.

Yep, I'm diagnosed. I'm seriously deadly afraid of spiders, deep water, sharks, outerspace, heights, small spaces, needles, wasps and bees, and flying.

I don't know the technical names for these & I honestly don't feel like looking them up so here are my phobias.
-Dying. (People close to me dying and myself dying) It absolutely terrifies me to no end. I've had panic attacks about it before.
-The ocean. (I love the beach, I just can't go IN the ocean. I had a near death experience and almost drowned when I was 13. So, obviously, it brings back bad memories for me. I'll go in up to my thighs that's it. One time my boyfriend tried to take me in and literally promised he'd hold me the whole time...didn't work. I ended up having a panic attack halfway in and he had to take me out.)
-Bugs. Oh my god...they scare me so much. For as much as I love being outside riding horses and swimming and stuff, I'm petrified of bugs. :[
-Small, windowless spaces like elevators and things like that. I don't know why....they never used to bother me when I was younger. But now I get anxious if I have to go in one without a window so I try to avoid them as much as possible.
-Mild social phobia. Its not anything bad that makes me a hermit or anything but I don't like large groups of people and I'm on the shyer side. I'd much rather hang out with 1 person than with a group. It makes me anxious and I can't fully relax and be myself. :/ I think "mild social anxiety" would actually be a better term to call it.

That's not as bad as my childhood fear. I was TERRIFIED, (and I mean TERRIFIED) of drains. I got over it when I was about 6 but for a few years before that it was awful. My mom had to force me into the tub and as soon as she started to drain it and the drain would make those gurgling sounds, I'd flip out. Its funny now but then it wasn't. =(

Fear of the future - Fear of the unknown, perhaps related to fear of depths.

Well.. My only real freaking PHOBIA is spiders. Can't see like an one millimeter big spider (not even a picture of it) without just kinda sitting there, shaking, crying and feeling spiders run all over my body.. feeling like my heart will pop out of my chest and like i can't breath..
But I don't like small spaces, walking alone outside when it's all dark, and be like forced to talk in front of people.. (the talking shit has been a lot better now tho)
