This is sort of like that "chupacabra" which turned out to basically be a coyote or other wild dog. It certainly looked like one. The skin was gray-ish and it had very little hair, but it was just some freak genetic occurrence or whatnot; definitely not some new species of blood-sucking creature.
One article about this "mystery creature" from Panama is here (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2196767/mystery_creature_from_panama_cryptid.html), I felt like this one was pretty objective and actually gave some info. It makes a good point about how supposedly this creature crawled out of a cave or something and the kids who saw it threw rocks and sticks at it because it looked so weird that they spazzed... yet the pictures appear to show no marks on the body. I don't see anything that looks like a bruise or a scratch, let alone fatal wound, do you? xP The article references the "Montauk Monster", and there's an article on that here (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/2484017/Montauk-Monster-Mystery-animal-corpse-becomes-web-sensation.html) if you're interested in comparing the two. Personally, Montauk Monster looks like a partially decomposed dog more than anything else to me. It also doesn't resemble the Panama creature very much at all.
It's funny how the body of the Montauk Monster disappeared before animal control arrived to get it off the beach, but I wouldn't shoot down the explanation that someone took it. It looked strange, people keep getting weirder and weirder these days.... who knows. It's also funny that it appears no one has collected the body of this "alien fetus" either, as I found an article which had updated photos of the supposed alien corpse a few days later, "decomposing". The coloring of the skin was the same, however, no visible decomp, just kind of looked like it'd been picked at by other animals. I'd want to ask the kids where it was, and pick it up. Do a necropsy, see what's up. Was it's last meal still in its stomach, and if so what did it eat? Does a better look reveal that the anatomy is indeed that of a sloth? Hey, let's do a DNA comparison if people are that freaked out about this being an alien. I'm curious.
Out of the theories I've seen raised so far, my money is on the stillborn sloth for now. We can't really tell relative size from the pictures, so I don't know if it's the right size to fit that description, but everything else looks pretty sloth-like to me. The second best theory, in my opinion, is either a genetic anomaly which left the sloth hairless, or a previously undiscovered sloth species which doesn't have hair and lacks the dark face that the hairy adult sloths have.
I'm interested to see if this will actually be collected and looked at, or if it'll just be left a mystery for alien enthusiasts to add to their collection of "proof".

I hadn't heard of a lady like that, but people do that sort of thing sometimes. I don't know if it makes sense for this, though. The kids found it near a creek, which may or may not even be heavily trafficked by people. I don't know how often anyone goes down there or if it's off to the side somewhere where no one normally hangs out; I haven't read an article which mentions that. I also don't know if it would even be seen as art by whoever finds it. Clearly this is being seen by a lot of people as a real creature of some sort, whether extra-terrestrial or not. Seems like a bad way to get attention for artwork when no one realizes that it even IS artwork, and she hasn't owned up to putting it there. If it was intentionally left by someone, it was as a hoax to see what would happen, rather than as an attempt at art, I think.
