ok, had this too.

most likely it is jock itch, which is not a big deal, see below...

do you shower/bathe every day? if not, you need to take a shower or bath daily.

do you do lots of sports, and sweat a lot, if so, it is prob. jock itch. you can likely buy a spray at the drug store for jock itch.

if the itch continues, see your doctor (you can go see your school nurse and talk to her, she does not need to inspect, but can give you advice, or go see your family doctor).

don't worry, but see someone, if it continues.

This could be hair growing from your scrotum. That happens to alot of guys.

I think that you can have one of two problems: new hair growing in or you have an infection down there.

As for new hair growing in itching and scratching are normal especially when new hair comes in. You can use calomine lotion to reduce the discomfort or something like baby powder or Gold Bond powder to help things. Obviously take showers daily and ensure that you dry yourself well down there.

If you have "jock itch," then that is really quite common especially if you are on a team and have to take showers at school. The contaminent which spreads that infection is quite contagious, but it is easily treated with over the counter things like lotrimin or any other cream/ointment which you can get at your local drugstore. There is no shame to tell your parents if you have this problem as many guys get this type of itch at some point of their lives. Just make sure that if you do have an infection down there that you get a new jock strap, clean your towels in a warm cycle in the wash, and make sure you dry yourself well down there and do not reuse your towels so that you do not reinfect yourself.

clean it well and check of anything that may be causing the itch.

it could also be vitiligo, i just saw a special on that. the itch is followed by loss of pigmentation in that area, the anus, underarms and eventually 30% of your body. apparently it's common among blokes our age. i hope it isn't but do keep an eye out for any loss of pigmentation in those areas. jock itch doesn't seem to be that serious anymore, does it mate?

Its one of two things...

1. new hair growing down there... "forcing" it's way through

2. An infection.
Leave it for a few more weeks, if it keeps itching its an infection (probably, I'm no doctor) if it stops then yay!
If its new hair just deal with it, it should go away eventually

If it's an infection then Go to your doctors and see what they say.
