does anyone else experience extremely painful cramps during their period? Today I was in A LOT of pain, it was radiating in my abdomen, back and down my leg at one point. I've had bad cramps but never this painful. has anyone else experienced this? and what did you do to help the pain go away? For me the pain only seemed to lessen if I was in a very awkward ball-shaped position, or if I was moving around. I was walking up and down the stairs for a good ten minutes. the pain finally subsided after about an hour... any feedback is appreciated :)

Yeah, being a girl is horrible sometimes. I do the same, the ball shape lol or stretching my stomach sometimes helps if you know what I mean. I usually just take painkillers.

Hope I helped :)

That's crappy. I'm sooo happy I don't get cramps. There are pills and things to help ease cramps a bit. Never tried them so I don't know if they work

Our periods affect us in different ways, for me when I am having mine my breasts tend to swell at least a cup size bigger and become very sore and tender (especially in my cleavage) so much so that I even wear a bra in bed at night. :(

I have visited my GP on several occasions for this problem and have always ended up taken ordinary painkillers which do give some relief.

I have also found that if I do suffer with stomach cramps/pain (only mild in comparison to yours) a warm hot water bottle place on my stomach often eases the discomfort.

I know there are some very effective prescription painkillers for your period stomach cramps so I would suggest a visit to your GP (Doctor) to ask for his/her advice.

I do hope you will get something sorted out very soon to try and make your life just a little more beareable.

Finally I know you girls will all agree with me when I say the guys just don't realise how lucky they are!! :)

I used to get pains so bad I would throw up from the pain! I went to the doctors though and they prescribed me some pills, containing Tanemac (cant spell it) acid, which virtually wipes out pain and reduces the amount of blood lost as well.

As for normal painkillers - take paracetamol to begin with (NOT asprin, they make it worse) then if that doesn't work ibuprofens are good.

In Spain a couple of years ago, my sister went to a pharmacy with bad period pains, and got these AMAZING blue pills, which wipe out all pain for 12 hours, and make you feel super happy to boot!

I recommend seeing your doctor though, its a common problem and there are lots of ways they can help you!
