A windstorm swept up my courage
And brought it to a lonely cottage
Off some unpaved, dirt road.
I trotted along the road,
A mule as my savior,
Inspired to find my courage
And make myself whole once again.
The sun was strong,
The darkness was stronger,
Night and day mixed together
After several hours of deceptive
Stares from both the moon and the sun.
I didn't know the date, I didn't know the time,
I didn't know my name, I didn't know a thing
But whatever day it was, it was the day I'd find myself;
Or so I thought.
My mule collapsed, and so did I,
I hit my head on the ground, real hard,
I felt concussed but I was already lost
In a sea of thought that made no sense.
I looked ahead with dreary eyes
And so a cottage, alone and dry.
The cottage was a dull maroon,
The windows were blackened
And I could smell the scent of doom.
But I went on ahead, not realizing my mule was dead,
And I knocked on the dull brown door.
No one answered and I felt a cancer overtake my mind.
I used all my force and knocked the door down,
And stumbled upon a silver, jewel-studded crown,
Lying just inside the cottage's front door.
I picked it up and felt my heart jump,
I turned around, and without a sound,
I fell, and fell, and fell, and fell.
And then someone whispered,
I think maybe it was the moon,
Welcome to hell,
Welcome to hell,
Welcome to... Hell.
And brought it to a lonely cottage
Off some unpaved, dirt road.
I trotted along the road,
A mule as my savior,
Inspired to find my courage
And make myself whole once again.
