I was reading the god delusion by Richard Dawkins and in it he claimed that if in the miraculous chance that somehow we were created by an outside force then it would be like from a different planet from more advanced people than us if that makes sense. Of course this was just a random theory i have come across and it seems like alot of people do believe it (google it) so i was wondering what do you guys think about it.
is it possible?

Google "Nibiru" for I lost the link of the website. It is semi believeable, but then you're like, ha, that's not possible." But, anyway, read everythign on the site. It's like planet X or something like that, I'll try and find the link tommorow.

Google "Nibiru"
why not i don't have anything better to do
the one on crystalinks?

i am not sure if that is what you meant but it relates. That is really cool

Nibiru is bullshit. There's a slim chance we were planted here by an alien species, but I've no reason to believe that's the case.

Of course it's bullshit, but it makes an interesting debate.

Lol! That's exactly what the average atheist says..
'' If God created us why hasn't he shown himself to us? ''
I'm sorry but that is just so lol..

if the aliens made us, who made the aliens??

That's not what we're debating. Go to the religion threads, there are many.

I think that's an interesting theory.
I'm not one to believe it, but it definitely has an interesting outlook.
Although, for that to be plausible, scientists would most like have to find a planet with similar characteristics to Earth in order to get a humanoid figure for us to be descended from. Wouldn't they?

Not really. What if the aliens lived on a completely different world and, as a science experiment, wanted to see if life could survive on earth-like conditions?

Why would they bother to visit us? Supposing that aliens did make us, then it's reasonable to assume they made other lifeforms also. But regardless if they made us or not, what purpose would they have of visiting us?
I think that's an interesting theory.

Not really. The aliens could be on a completely non-Earthlike planet but in some way set us on Earth. It's like when astronauts go to the Moon or go to Mars, it's not exactly like Earth there so they wear the special suits. The same thing could apply for the aliens.
Also, look at the history of chordates, it's pretty diverse, so the alien wouldn't even have to resemble a human at all. Looking through the history of vertebrates and non-vertebrates, suppose a human-like alien did indeed come to Earth and drop us humans off. How would have we been able to then evolve from other organisms as evidence, such as the fossil record shows? It makes no sense unless you argue that somehow aliens dropped of the first living organisms and then scurried off.

Yeah. I was going to argue with myself on that one. We would be the weirdest science experiment ever. However, they'd have to get the genetic material from somewhere...
Hm.

or maybe they created the earth's conditions and we evolved from the conditions they created hmmm.
it would still explain evolution because the water the first organisms the first mammals dinosaurs blah blah blah and it would explain how we got here.
eh probably not but it is an interesting theory though

Well that does make some sense, given that through evolution, any species incapable of surviving in Earth's environment would die out.

The flaw I see with this is that they wouldn't have been able to make Earth's conditions very fast. As the Earth was forming, various bodies hit Earth and left some markings. If the conditions on Earth were created with a snap of the alien's fingers, then these markings (i.e. craters) wouldn't make much sense because the body would have had to have been a lot larger than initially predicted and that would leave one to wonder how Earth managed to stay intact. Also, if the conditions changed fast due to the aliens, then one has to wonder, wouldn't have that allowed for different courses of evolution?
Overall, it would have to be that the conditions were made at such a slow rate. The thing that makes this confusing is that if the aliens are so advanced, then why create the conditions at such a slow rate?
However, they'd have to get the genetic material from somewhere...
If we assume that the aliens are so sophisticated and if we assume that Earth was merely an experiment on their part, then it's not too unreasonable to assume that they did similar experiments and through those, they obtained various organisms with diverse genetic material.
