ok so im new to tampons, and i have nevver used one, so i put it in then sat down, is it suppose to hurt?

Tampons are different for every girl, some girls it doesn't some it does. Maybe if your using a bigger size one, try using a smaller one. They do take time to get used to. They hurt me at first, but now I am used to them.

If it hurt then it wasn't inserted properly. Next time be sure to insert it further.

If you can feel it inside you or it hurts, you've put it in wrong.

It's best done either sitting with your legs apart on the toilet or standing up with one leg on something (eg, toilet)

Whether you are useing applicator or non-applicator, you insert them at a 45 degree angle towards the small of your back. The should go in 2-3 inches.

Applicator ones (the ones that come in a tube and you fire them out the tube (well, not fire, push) you hold the end of the top bit so only the bit you are holding is outside you, then fully depress the lower half at the angle towards the small of your back. It should then be in properly

Non-applicator ones you have to push in the same distance with a finger (after unwrapping them of course!)

Best advice is start with smaller ones, then work up the sizes.

Also it helps to wear some kind of panty liner as well with them in case your period is heavier then you expected and you flood out.

Maybe you didnt put it in rite ?
i prefer pads because they are more comfortable.
or maybe you need to pick a smaller or larger size
