Im not completely certain on the answer, its one of those grey areas on where no-one really seems to know for sure. You can speak to the doctors or nurses at a Sexual Health Clinic or with your doctor.

Well in order for you to catch an STI, your friend must first have the STI, thereby allowing the transfer. If you want to avoid getting one, then I suggest not doing it at all or using some type of protection, most likely condoms. Really though, if either you or your friend has an STI, working towards staying clear of sexually related activity is best until the infection clears up.

If he gets some cum on your hand, and you then touch an open sore, your penis, or somehow get it inside your body, you will most likely get the STD/STI (thats onyl is he has one though).
