Not to be a bad new bear, but the woman who inspired "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" (or LSD as I like to call it) died earlier this week. What a shame.
Anyway, back on topic!
Not as much of a Beatles fan as I used to be, but I do like their music. They had to be one of the most provincial groups in the history of rock. Not to mention that they inspired British bands to move across the pond to North America, which then started the British Invasion. Best period in music history imho.
Best Beatle song ever is "Let It Be". I just like the simplicity of the piano in the song. It really helps calm me down and is the ultimate relaxation/meditation song.

My top 5 are:
1) Something
2) While My Guitar Gently Weeps
3) Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
4) Revolution
5) For No One
Actually those are just 5 random songs I like, to choose only a top 5 for me, is impossible

Overrated? I can see your point. There have been times where I couldn't stand people talking about them. But you have to admit, that if it weren't for them, then the British Invasion ma not have happened. They may not even have formed. Then think about where music would be today.

No offence, but I hate the Beatles. And the main reason most people like them now is because it became a new trend to like them.

It's not a new trend. On the contrary, it's always been a trend to like them. They're one of the greatest bands in the history of rock. They've had generations of followers and that will continue because the music will stay alive. As long as the music stays alive, they'll always be around even when Ringo and Paul die. That's the thing about Beatles music; it never ages.
