I want to tell you a little thing about religion in Iceland. In Iceland 90% of the population is Luther's. And those who are registered to the Icelandic church pay about 50 $ a year to the church from their taxes so its is a multimillion dollar business of having people believing in god. Here in schools is booth thought the theorie of god creating the world and the scientific way. At the age 13-14 the members of the church go to schools trying to get as many as they can to confirm their religion by attending classes which cost money and there is a ceremony which conveniently for them costs money. It is very similar to a bar mitzvah. The church is also against homosexuals and people of other believes then theirs. Priests here have also sexually abused and raped some children which are attending their church. And the church tried to silence all the cases. But luckily there are also people which are atheist and are fighting to stop the teaching of creationism in schools and that priest come to schools to try to get teens to confirm their religion and they think that schools and every institution run of the taxpayers money should be completely free of all religion. Of course i think everybody should have the right to believe in what they want as long as they don't try to force their opinions on other people or to convert it.

Separation of church and state I believe.

Anyone would tell you it is necessary to a good democratic government.

both are equally important. No one should be forced to believe something they don't want to believe in and separation of church and state is what America was originally built on

Damn Martin Luther! Because of you, Luther, there are 2600 far-off and unpure Protestant denominations today. May God bless the Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox, along with the poor Protestants, for because of Luther, they are twisted in interpreting His supreme law and are stranded on an inescapable island.

May the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches be blessed forever. Amen.

One could argue that the whole of Christianity is just an "impure mix" of judaism and pagan beliefs. Just saying you're comin' off a lil' harsh there buddy.

I understand where you're coming from. Catholicism and Orthodoxy especially venerate the Saints and the Virgin Mary, which uneducated Protestants may say we worship them when all we ask for is their intercession. Many people actually unknowingly worship the Virgin Mary ... I don't, as most Catholics and Orthodox ask for her intercession, along with the intercession of the saints.
