I wanted to start a thread the other day discussing the His Dark Materials books by Philip Pulman, but couldnt really see anywhere to put this other than TWPR or my diary. It seems strange to have fora for music and tv/film under the 4th wall but not for books & literature.
Now one of my friends on here thought this could go in The Open Book, but I disagree with that because The Art Room generally, and The Open Book, seems to me to be for original works that members have created themselfs, where as the 4th wall is for discussing/reviewing public domain art.
Have I got that right? So how about a books section?

I guess so, actually I just read the welcome (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/announcement.php?f=126&a=135)in the Arts Room and it does specificaly mention published literature so I guess that answers my question.
Still, The Open Book does seem to get used more or less exclusively for people posting their own writing and I thought it seemed logical to have books under the TV and Films.

It's because of ignorance I think if people started posting more authors while still doing original poems then they might get it. It would be cool to have it but we'll need more people posting first. Create a need and we'll have to fufill it.

I always considered The Open Book for creative writing and not for published books. Although there is no demand for it, we've created semi-active topics before, and this is the first one I might read through.
