I'm almost eighteen years old and I weigh about 101 pounds. I've never weighed over 105 and it's not because I have an eating disorder, it's just how I'm built. But I'm really scared of gaining weight and getting fat. And I don't want to eat because I don't want to gain weight. All my friends say I'll be this skinny forever, but I'm scared. I really don't want to gain weight. And I don't know what to do.

Don't do anything like stop eating or cut out all fat foods because thats how an eating disorder can develop.

Just maintain a healthy lifestyle, have a balanced diet and do exersize on a regular basis. Try not to worry about gaining weight, the more you worry about it, the more you will put yourself off food etc...

I believe that you have a very high metabolism. Either that or you eat like a bird... I am almost the opposite. I am almost 16 and I weigh 252 lbs. I have a fairly low metabolism. If you stop eating fatty foods just because you are afraid of gaining a little weight, you will develope chronic nausea and migranes. That is what happened to me. So take it from me, someone who has been there, enjoy food, and don't eat like a bird :)

Yes I think you have a high metabolism, if you have been skinny till now chances are you probably won't gain to much weight unless you start eating Fatty foods everyday.

I wouldn't worry about gaining weight stay on the diet you have been previous to this post and you should be fine. :)

Exceedingly skinny people are rarely fat when they're older unless they do something that drastically alters their diet or drink alcohol regularly. Altering your diet -- including not eating -- will send your metabolism out of whack (this is what regulates how you burn calories and the faster it is, the thinner you likely will be). When you don't eat, your metabolism plummets and when you do, inevitably, eat something, you will gain more eat. The best way to stay slim is to, in fact, eat more (make sure it's healthy) and eat it fast.

Chances are that your metabolism will slow down when you get older and you'll put on weight inevitably, but not to the point where you'll be fat. That happens to everyone with age.

In reality, it's not really normal to be fat unless you have a glandular problem. But our diets and overall laziness prevent us from being lean and toned as our natural bodies should be. If you need more dietary tips, feel free to contact me.

I'll set up some background here. My dad weighed 120 his senior year of COLLEGE. Now 40 YEARS LATER, he's 150ish. (I think) You most certainly have a super high metabolism. (as do I, I think is hereditary) For me, no matter how much I eat. I can't go past 117. It just can't happen. So I think that until you're much much older you won't have to worry about gaining any noticeable amount of weight. Just keep eating like you have your whole life and you'll be good. Regular exercise is also great. Even if it's just walking then jogging in intervals.

same way i feel im 14 and i weight 100pounds my friends told me i was guna be skinny and short forever but guess what im taller than half of them now and they cant tell me anything be happy with you self i learned too that's the way im built my mom or dad isn't fat we are all thin but i just workout so i look ripped im skin and muscles so i don't look that bad its your metabolism thing on the greener side of the grass if u gain weight exercise it looks more natural than vomiting and stuff like all these other girls.
