ive had hiccups for the last 2-3 hours and they are really annoying. does any one have any ideas for getting rid of them?

There are many ways to try to get rid of them, holding your breath, eating a spoon of sugar, eating peanut butter, breathing into a paper bag, but unfortunately, none work for me! I get the hiccups almost everyday, and they are really bothersome, but they WILL go away after a while.

A good way is to hold your breath, or for someone to scare you :)

never heard about the sugar one, but they went around 6 hours after i got them.

You might not understand what i'm trying to say, but what actually DOES work for me, is leaning over a sink with a glass of water and like leaning forward and drinking the water, it's difficult, and you might not get what i'm trying to say but it works for me lol!

The trick is to be expectant yourself. I f you think the sugar is going to help, then it probably will. If you concentrate on the hiccups, there is a good chance they will stop.
At least it works for me. :D

My brother does this and I tried it and it worked. Use some willpower. If you concentrate solely and completely on making yourself stop hiccuping they will stop. At least for me and my bro they do. And also. if you lean forward and drink from the opposite side of a glass full of water, that also works. (for me)

I've only ever heard of me and my brother using it. So I can only speak for two people. Anythings worth a shot when you've got hiccups though.

Well i usually just try to fall asleep.. lol
Or just busy myself with something else and they usually go away.

I drink water, then hold my breath for 10 seconds while leaning my head upside down, works every time for me
