Modern Arists?

I was just wondering about people's opinions on modern artists nowadays. I think it's safe to say that the most predominant movement we're in currently is pop-surrealism, but I find that discussing your favourite (still living and creating) artists kind of opens your eyes to new movements, styles and overall appeals. My personal favourites are David Hockney, Morgan Blair, AJ Fosik, and almost everyone else at the Jonathan Levine Gallery. If you want to check it out, feel free:

at the risk of sounding ignorant and trollish here, i honestly don't know any of the specific artists in our generation, but I admire alot of the surrealist sculptures and paintings that you see nowadays, I enjoy absract art as there are now so many mediums to work with... but some pictures like just a white line on a black peice of paper i find a bit presumptious...

I don't think anyone can really match up to the old greats though, even for surrealism and absract work, salvidore dali was a fucking genius... and escher...well that's just mindblowing.
