View Full Version : It's just habit.

I've been cutting since I was around thirteen years old. I'm now almost eighteen. Two years ago my mom found out and got me put on the 8th floor and put on anti depressants. I quit taking the pills about four months ago and haven't told anyone. If I tell them, they'll get very angry at me and I don't want to deal with that. I see a therapist and a psychiatrist on a regular basis. Everyone thinks I stopped cutting, but I haven't. Sometimes I just do it to do it because I've done it for so long. It's just become a habit to me and I just like the way it feels. I don't know what's wrong with me.

They say if you do something 26+ Times it becomes a habbit, but habbits can be broken, and so you can beat this addiction. Just try and believe in yourself that you can stop and use some of the useful other things that you can do. :) There is a lot of help on this site

Think positive :), you can break the addiction it may take a lot of hard work but you can :), I would suggest doing something to keep you busy something that you enjoy :)

Would that be 26 sessions or 26 cuts? Because I have 127 and don't think this is a habit...yet

There are alot other things that u can do instead of cutting that do the same thing but don't hurt eg bite into a lemon
have a cold or hot shower and put a rubber band around your wrist and flick it
remember that all emotions have a 10-15 min peak so if you can ride it out you should be fine
it takes 3 weeks to stop so you can do it!
