why do posting in diaries add to your post count. Its like, remember when we had the spammers forum. when you posted in that, it didnt add to your post count because its not a real valid post, its jsut spam. Well all the diaries are just like.....spammy games and stuff. And thats really fun, but whenever I post in one, I feel like, yeah I'm having fun, but its adding to my post count, and thats not real. You know? I think that whatever option we used on the spammers forum to keep posts from counting, should be extended to diaries. I want to post in them, but I don't like knowing that loads of my posts are hallow and unhelpful.

Well, there are some spam diaries... Some people are even known for having nothing but spam in their forum *cough* Francis *cough* And then some people are even known for inactivity, but let's get to the point :D

I feel that if a member has those kind of spam games, then they should PM an admin and request that their forum won't add to post count. Other member forums (like mine... -_- and don't get started about the inactivity thing) barely get any traffic, and the posts they do have in them are full of content. So not every member forum/diary needs to have the post count increment disabled... But, could always use more opinions ;)

well its just like, it shouldnt matter i know, but it does too, if you catch my drift. I don't like to spam, in fact, I'm very much against most types of spamming. I like to play all the little games, but I don't think they should add to my post count because there not real. you know? I'm just sayin, it doesnt really matter, you don't need to or anything, but it would make it more even.

i agree with kolte its not nice spamming and thats what some diaries are used for, although then there are others which are used for content and all that jazz. so maybe have certain criteria that makes a diary spam so it becomes like the Spammers Forum where posts dont affect post count.

exactly so it shouldnt matter much is we make them not count or count. Its really just a thorn in my side, but I can see its a thron in other peoples side's as well.

Probably because your diary is one of those spammy diarys.
Anyways I agree, if the majority of the diary is just spam and bollocks, turn post count off. If the diary has content and purpose, then leave it on.

Well, as fun as diaries are, even mine I wouldnt mind clicking off post count. There are so many just counting games. Its like, one person counts 1, then 2 the 3 its like...fun but spam. I've done it, but I think it should just be for fun, its misguiding when it adds to your post count really.

The way I feel is that having a higher post count doesn't give you more opportunities, or make you better than anyone else. I think it should be the Diary owners choice since they "OWN" it.

count up games are fun, but there not relevent to a forum, there just there, and in no way should reflect on your affiliation with vt. a post count shows your involvment, and your not involved when count up games, your just letting us know you can count....which is good, I'm gald we can all count..

I'm not quite sure, however, if a user's post count is high because of spam, then it should be lowered anyway. Though if this is anything like pruning, then it shouldn't hurt post counts (though I don't know for sure).

Still has yet to be decided, like I said before, there are really two types of member forums: spam and nonspam :P

We might just split them into groups and set everything as needed... Still need to talk it over with the other two.

naw no need to delete them, just make it to were they no longer add to post couse, because it gives off a false impression of involvment and people like me, who play them occasionally, won't feel like they are spamming when they do so.

Exactly... Everyone says that they don't care about their post count, but then they fuss when one forum has it disabled.

You know what, that's all fine with me, because then that forum can be moved back when it's games become locked/pruned for inactivity. Any member forum with 2+ active games will go in the "Member Forums with Games" section. Just get over it or don't, people. Doesn't bother me.

That's why we didn't delete anyone of them. And actually, The Hangout*~ is currently the only game forum, so it's pretty much an exclusive forum section for Matt - until we see a new game forum in development ;)

And yes, I think it should be locked...
