is the ten minutes of bliss worth the weeks of looking at the destruction reminding you of how stupid you were for starting andmaking you feel even more depressed?
its an endorphin release
so yes it feels good its the bodies way of soothing pain and relaxing you
but its only temporary
so think
is it really worth the destruction?

First this should be in the self harm forum..

And i know you said not to tell you not to try, but trust me once you start it gets harder to stop because you become so additted to the pain, cutting does help when you feel like shit but it only works for a few hours until you rely on it to get through the day, cutting releases endorphins which make your body feel alive. It helps but not for long. My advise is. Dont do it! Dont try it. Once you do there is no turning back. .

I'm told that... and I'm quoting someone who should know because she did SH, "It's not worth the stares, or the questions, or the sorry looks people give you when they find out."
If that doesn't make you not want too do it then you probably should see a quack because it's serious, very, very, serious, and I know that because it's how I feel,

What would be the point of cutting your own throat?

For starters its a very hard angle to do and you'd have to be VERY dedicated to get past the excruciating pain.

If you're doing it to kill yourself, how could you be so stupid!?!?

YES life is hard

YES it can almost be too much to bear

But throwing it away, it just pointless.

Things will get better. I promise.

give in now and consider it all over. Scars covering your body
people asking what hpapened there
being bullied for being 'emo'
explaining them to your family

its stupid
and pointless

the endorphins are a drug
you get addicted
and once you get addicted
more
jsut a few more cuts
few more scars
then a few more
it escalates

so dont even let it start

Cutting is like a drug. its extremely addictive. you start off, one small cut. then two. then three, then 6, then 10, then soon you'll be covered in scars all over your body. you'll be wearing long sleeved shirts and jumpers in the middle of summer, cos you'll be afraid of peoples jeering at you, calling you an emo. you'll spend money on bandages, plasters, sunscream, anything to cover it up. You'll tell yourself your not addicted, you can quit at anytime, yet you always find yourself reaching for the knife. soon you'll hate yourself, feeling the need to cut constantly. you'll become paranoid, of friends, family, looking at you, finding out judging you. Is all that worth 10 to 20 minutes of relief? no. no it is not.

umm yes cutting seems to help at first when you do it but like many have said it addiciting and not worth the stares and looks and once you start it does become very addictive i just relapsed after almost 30 days with out cutting and I ended up getting caught cause it was really bad this time had to go to the psych unit yet again which is no fun cause trust me they will look you up on the psych unit even if you tell them that you were not trying to kill yourself and your a cutter it no fun at all so i would recomend not to even start...

Cutting eventually makes everything worse. Find things to do when you are depressed, like music or something. Something to distract you out of your depression. Even sleeping is better! Just lay in your bed and sleep it off! Starting this is a very bad habit, and could eventually turn into worse things. Think about it before it happens!

It makes me feel better, but thats me. Cutting is a rather personal thing, and each to there own. While some people will feel better about it, some will feel so much worse, and I can assure you that in the long run your not going to feel good about it, for one reason or another.

So short answer, maybe, long answer NO.

Not realy worth the risk, so run! Leave that trail of thought while you still can!!! There is hope for us all, but you better off not needing it in the first place.

it's a horrible thing. You'll do it, and then feel 10 times worse than. after you cut it's one more thing to hate yourself for. Instead, squeeze an ice cube. It's no tthe same, but i'tll help.

Yes, cutting yourself is better then killing yourself but once you start, your hooked. Its much harder quiting then you may think, so is it worth it? Dont kill yourself though. If you do try and kill yourself, then yes, i will say cut your self, but things will get better in time, i promise.

Yes, it does feel good, Ive done it and it made me feel great and confident for about an hour! But then i started to get panic attacks because i have to face my friends and tell them a lie, i have no one to talk to about this but 1 of my friends has been through this before, so i tell her. If you havent cut before then i wouldnt if i were you, once you cut yourself, your hooked, your addicted to it, its harder then you may think to quit. Please just stop and think, is it worth it? Please dont. If you feel as if you HAVE to then go out and run or jog or do something to keep your mind off it. Just dont do it. Type out your emotions online or in a diary, it might make you feel better.
I wouldnt if i were you...

1st - no, you dont want to try.
There are people on her who hate there lives, have scars covering there bodies because of Self-Harm, who want to quit, but cant find th will power, and you want to try?

once you start, you cant stop, it doesnt HELP depression, it CAUSES depression.

Yeahh maybe for like 2 minutes you happy that you've cut, but then you regret it, and you do it again and again, but when you'v got endless scars all over your arms, legs, stomache, everywhere, you will want to stop, but you cant, because your addicted, you will have to go to councling, you wont be able to sleep, eat, think, because you want to cut..

so if you really want to cut, then cut, but it doesnt solve anything,

so if your smart enough to listen to everyones advice, dont cut:D

The unadulterated stupidity of the kids in the world today never ceases to amaze me.

Of course this isn't a good idea.

I understand why you want to self harm. I have self harmed and im still trying to stop. Im not excusing self harm cos theres nothing gd about it. Yes, you feel good for a while but thts all.
I have my reasons for self harming, i suffer from depression as well as other disorders. But im trying to recover at the moment.

If any1 wants to talk then just message me. x
