I wasnt going to say anything but it's getting bad now.

My best friend has been really depressed lately. She has always been depressed and tried to get help by going to the school counsellor but for some reason the counsellor stopped her appointments. They worked for a while until they were stopped, she just seems so un-motivated every little thing seems like a struggle for her. I'm getting really worried now though.. I asked her to go to the cinema last night and she said no.. when I asked why she said "My breakdowns have been leaking out a bit more often" So I told her she needs to see someone =/ She said "Nahh I'd rather let it eat me alive :D" That has worried me, she is refusing to go to the doctor.. but she said she has tried to tell her mum but she doesn't believe her. :(
I really want to help, I've thought about ringing her mum because she might believe if it's from someone else. Any ideas? Thought? Anything will be greatly appreciated.

You should call her mom, for sure. It's the first step, to making her believe this. If that doesn't help talk to your counselor and find out why they stopped, there is definitely a cure for this you just have to help her out!!

Agreeing with Jordan here. There is very little you can do firsthand. It might be best to talk to her mum, to let her hear it from someone else, especially from someone who cares about her daughter. Ring her mum and see what she has to say.

Thanks for your help. :) Instead of going straight to her mum (I knew if I did that she would hate me forever), I spoke to another friend first and she said she had noticed this about her as well. So we both went to speak to her and she didn't know she was worrying us that much. But then she also pointed out that we both worry her, so we have all made an agreement that she will try and get help if we do. So I guess thats a step forward. :P

Yeahh I think you should try ringing her mum? shes lucky to have a good friend like you:)
what about going to see the school councler and asking why the appointments have been stopped? maybee your friend has made out shes better so they dont think she needs the appointments? explain what shes like outside the appointments?

i dunno if it will work but its worth a shot? x
