Braces were a pain in the neck to install, and they hurt for the first few days after each adjustment/replacement, but once you get used to 'em they're not bad.

I had them in 7th grade. I never wore my retainers and now they are a bit crooked on the bottom. Now i'm in dental assisting school haha. Hopefully i'll get them re fixed soon!

I recently got mine off. Playing an instrument with them is a pain. It's also annoying to think about what you can and can't eat. The pain wasn't bad, but they felt very inconvenient.

I used to have them, they were kind of a pain, but I guess it could have been worse. It just wasn't very fun with all the food you couldn't have with them. I got mine when I was only in the fourth grade, and got them off hardly a year later. Unfortunately, my parents didn't want to pay for a retainer after I got them off, so my bottom teeth are going a bit crooked again. :(

I had braces for about 18 months, hated em. My teeth weren't even that bad. just a few gaps. The main problem was TMJ, and moving my teeth around was a way to adjust my bite to alleviate a lot of the pain I felt from that. When it got so bad that I couldn't eat some days, my dentist sent me to the orthodontist and said, "fix it". xP

These days the pain isn't a real problem, and even though braces suck and make your teeth sore it was worth it. I don't really wear my retainers, though, because they hurt my teeth all the time. Every morning when I would take them out to eat and brush my teeth and everything, I felt like I'd just had my braces tightened. It was terrible, I couldn't eat my cereal some mornings because my teeth hurt, especially the front ones. I gave up. It's been about 5 years now anyways, and this is about where I wouldn't need to wear them anymore.
