This is a simple guide to the question 'Do I need to go to the Doctors?'. Please note, it is only a guide and when it comes to health (particularly 'down there') it is always better safe than sorry.

-Pain in the testicles
If they have been painful for more than a day, you should immediately go to your GP or doctor.
If you have been hurt down there then the pain should go away in an hour at most. If it is still painful after a day, see your doctor.

Another cause of pain can be 'blue balls' - which is caused by a build up of semen from sexual excitement that hasn't been released. Can usually be corrected by masturbating 1 or 2 times. Again, if pain doesn't go away, contact your doctor.

-Bloody urine/semen/blood coming out your ass
IMMEDIATELY CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR

-Late development (penis not growing/no hairs growing etc.)
Puberty is a complex process that, for boys usually lasts between the age of 13-18 years. Some people develop quicker than others in that period too. You shouldn't be concerned about your development until you are around 18, then if you still are very underdeveloped then a trip to your doctor may be in order.

-Spots
If they are white small dimples, these are usually fine. They are hair follicles/sweat glands, and are normal.
If they are anything different, they are most commonly a sign of a Sexually Transmitted Disease, and should be checked by the doctor ASAP.

-Cuts
If you get a cut on your penis shaft/head don't panic. As long as it stops bleeding, it should be just like a normal cut. However, remember that this area can have a lot of bacteria so make sure you wash the cut so it can't get infected.
It should be nearly finished healing after 1 week. If it takes much longer than this, or it doesn't stop bleeding, you should get medical attention.

-Kicked in the balls
Normally, being hurt in the testicles doesn't require any treatment. As long as the pain dies down quickly, they don't look or feel weird and you are able to urinate and ejaculate normally, they are fine and don't need looking at. If they are still painful or if they look/feel weird, or you are unable to urinate/ejaculate normally then you need immediate medical attention.

These are the most common medical complaints in this area, and the information was gained from other VT posts. If you have a problem that is not listed here, or you are still unsure, ask for help on VT or go to your doctor.

A note about doctors: doctors are professionals. There is no reason to feel embarrassed, as it is nothing they haven't seen before, and they are there purely to help people with ANY medical problem.
