So I finally decided to put Zoo Tycoon 2 on my new comp. It installed just fine, but I go to play it and an error message pops up. It says that the game need 256mb of disk space to run and that it can't find any space. I'm completely at my wit's end and can't figure this out. I'm not sure what to do. Any help?

Do you haveeeeee the diskspace?
Yeah, i know that's the logical thing to check first... just thorwing it out there.
I dind't have this problem installing zoo tycoon delux, but I think zt2 is a two-disk program. did you install them in the right order?

I'm not using the deluxe edition. Just the original. I have the space, at least 650 GB worth, just want to know what the problem is. I installed it correctly. Nothing seriously bad happened.

What computer are you using, because it *should* be compatiable with any computer from 2007

Custom built. Went down to a local comp store and got it built. I think I'll stick to buying a new copy (when I can). Thanks for the help anyway Gwyn :).

If it doesn't work, Matt, just go to where ever you bought and swap it for a new one, if you got your receipt, that is.
I do find it weird that your Zoo Tycoon doesn't work, I mean it should work on any computer, really. Maybe you don't have as much disk space as you think.

Screen shot taken a few minutes ago. I think that 668 gigs is enough to run ZT2.

Since when did it take almost 700 gigs to run a game? It ran perfectly fine on my old comp, and that only had a 500 GB HDD.

I'm joking, lol. Don'tcha know?
Where did you buy it from? If it's from GameStop they'll replace it if you have the receipt, but some other places are not as kind.

Bought it at Wal-Mart last summer. Worked fine then. Don't have the receipt. I usually throw it out after a month or two.

Well, that sucks. Never buy games from Wal-Mart. Best Buy and GameStop are the two best places to buy games.

Vista doesn't mess up games, dude. I play games on my parents' computer, and it has Vista and they work fine.
Yeah, I'll try looking at Best Buy. Thanks Jake.
That's what I'm here for. :D

Try either running it in Compatibility mode for XP or run it as an Administrator. (Or both)
Should fix your problem.
Also, make sure you have the latest patch (http://zootycoon.com/Downloads/patches.htm) currently installed.
Edit: If that doesn't work, try running the installer in compatibility mode (Can fix some problems).

If you would've even thought to take a peek at his screenshot, you would've learned that he has 8GB of RAM.
More than enough to run Zoo Tycoon.

Ok. Just installed the patch update, made it compatible with XP (SP2) and ran it as administrator. I'm just about to give up on this. Any more advice?
