I have an appointment with a psychiatrist about depression and not being able to sleep. I was just wondering, does anyone know whats going to happen? Like what they'll do?
Thanks :)

well i go to a psycologist is almost the same the different is that psychiatrist can give meds, anyway they would ask about you ,your family why you go ,how are you feeling, why are feeling like that ,thigs like that.
this is going to be your firts appointment so he would just try to know you.

Basically what the others said above, Dont worry (but i know you prolly will) too much about it. The dr is going to know your nervous, and is getting to know you and ask you all sorts of questions. the 1 i go to i actually had to take several tests. and then we talked some. 1 thing to remember the dr is there to help and just be yourself! it took me awhile to trust mine and i look back now and i think dont build up that wall!!
you will do ok!!:)

Actually, it's best to explain what you are thinking, if for nothing else than talking about it to get it off your chest. Holding it back doesn't help.

I know what you mean, I have told a teacher... so it's kinda off my chest. I just don't like these thoughts!

Being honest with the people trying to help you is the only way you will get better.
If you go in and lie or withhold things then you are wasting your time and their time.

I dunno. It really depends on how you got the apointment. Um, I dunno, um, they will pretty much just ask you questions about yourself, your life, Like an interveiw almost.
