I have been having my period for a year now and some times it stays a little longer the it should. About 7- 13 days at the most when some times i only have it 4-6. Whats up?

sometimes our periods tend to regulate and change due to either A ) sometimes extra estrogen in the air, if u hang out with alot of girlfreinds your period tends to flucuate due to the female estrogen floating around
b) your body is still fairly new to this sorta thing and is still adjusting to it so the days and times etc will sometimes change. i have had mine since i was 12( i'm now 16) and mine is still irregular sometimes comes for 3 days or sometimes longer. just give it sometime and eventually it should change up. also if you are on any form of birth control your period length can also change
hope this helps ;)

Okay.
Since no one else is helping, I will.
I guess you have a heavy flow.
I have girl friends whose last that long.
Have you considered birth control?

yes agreed(with obsidian)
birth control can decrease your blood flwo and help ease cramps
it helps with me
i'm on birth control. but my body isn't used to it because the dr. took me off of the 21 day and switched me to 28 day so my periods are haywire right now
i am not due for my period until late next week and i got it this past monday.
everthing changes. but if you are sexually active and your not on the pill i would reccomend you go on it;)

The pill can be an option for any girl, more or less. Kenzie's only 16, I'm 17, and we're both taking it. 14 wouldn't be super young. Your periods are likely to regulate on their own in another year or two though, so it's not like you need to go on the pill. Your periods are likely to get more and more regular as time goes on, most of them will last about the same time although here and there some might be different. Unless it's for birth control, though, I'd say not to go on the pill anyways unless your periods get so bad that you and your doctor agree that you need those hormones to even it out.

ok
indeed if ur not sexually active then theres no need for it.. but as a plus i wanted to say i am not sexually active and i am just on the pill to stabilize my flow and cramping and it really helps(birth controls not just for protection against pregnancy you know!!

I've been having vaguely regular periods for 7 years now, and they still vary in time. The one i've just come out of was only 3 days, VERY unusual for me!
If you are severly underweight though that can bugger them up, otherwise its pretty normal and not worth fretting about!

dont worry about getting it for that long. im a small skinny 15 year old and always get it for 7-14 days :O . and normally heavy. do you ever feel drained. i sure do!.
but its normal, but go to your doctor and disguse different pills, implants ect.:)

Its sheer randomness. When you start, its going to be irregular, it takes a few years to stabilise. Don't worry it'll get regular soon.
