I know their is a donation area, I'm still new around here so i am not sure if this has been suggested or already happening.

Basically, You donate a certain amount and for a certain amount of time you get a colored user name. Like Pink, Blue, Purple etc. So like 2 dollars for 1 month of a donator color username, or 10 dollars for 3 months or something along those lines.

It goes towards the forum lol. Its the same as donating, except the people get a colored name for donating. Kind of like an incentive for donating. So all the money that people donate would go towards whatever the admins decide.

Although this works on some forums, we don't want to create any more of a hierarchy between members than there already is.

I honestly doubt people with lives and things they actually need money for, will donate...which honestly makes up the majority of VT who use the site regularly (could be wrong).

Um, nope, not really. Five or ten dollars is really nothing once you've got a job, which many here have. I would donate myself, and will once I figure out exactly how to get a paypal account linked to my bank account.

Colored names? Why? What would be the point? Just because you paid money doesn't mean you're special, and people would think that they had privileges just because they donated which would cause trouble. And personally, i don't really want people to know how much I'm donating, or if I am at all.

There is too much hierarchy involved. If I could, I would donate my money to the site, no doubt. But the idea of giving someone a colored user name would just make things worse. There's already a hierarchy on VT and the last thing we need is for it to expand. Nice suggestion though.

Colored usernames may also misguide newer or less competent members into thinking that donators are actual staff members.
