awhile back i fell face first off the top of a fence, and broke my nose, busted my chin lips and chest, now since its all healed and everything is fine, i can only breath out of one nostrel at the same time, and sometimes they alternate, one to the other and then back again, but only one at a time, what do you think is happening, should i go to the doc?

I'm not sure what it could be but I think you should go to the doctor. It could be something serious.

Go see your doctor. It's possible that you have a deviated septum from breaking your nose. The septum is the cartilage bit between your nostrils, which separates them into two relatively even spaces and directs the airflow into them. Almost everyone has some mild deviation, it's not usually perfect, but a severely deviated septum is an issue. It can cause difficulty breathing through the nose, as you've described, as well as frequent nosebleeds, nasal congestion, and other similar symptoms.

Have your doctor look at your nose to see if the break may be causing this problem. Even if the break was a while ago, it's possible for the symptoms to just have not been a problem until now.

If that is indeed the case, it can be fixed with a septoplasty, which is basically a nose job that doesn't affect the appearance of your nose. The doctor goes in through the nostrils, and you shouldn't have any bruising or external signs at all--it's not cosmetic surgery. However, if your nose is crooked from the break and you want to straighten it, you could probably do that at the same time as well.

Other than that, I can't think of anything that could be related to your fall.

Yeah, a deviated septum makes sense. Your doctor can determine what the cause is.

did you see a dr to begin with?? from the sound of your injuries id have thought you would have, that said the advice above is very good along with what others have posted too.
if its difficult to breathe then that can lead to other problems sometimes they have to re break your nose to correct a problem i believe
good luck!
