no, it is not. many Christians think it is a sin because in the bible god punishes a man (i forgot his name) for pulling out of a women god wanted him to fertilize and spilling his semen on the ground. Christians think god punished him for spilling semen, thus making masturbation a sin, but he was really punished for not doing gods will (fertilizing the women)

Okay, technically just about everyone does it in puberty, non religiously it's not wrong. You said sin though, so I'm assuming you mean in Christian terms, I'm going to speak in Catholic terms because that's what I know. In the Catholic Christian religion, most say it's a mortal sin, some say it's just a sin. I believe God is the only one who can judge sin and it comes down to personal choice.
