Anyone else known as "The Gay Kid"?

I'm not 100% sure this belongs here, only about 99.999991%, so if it belongs somewhere else, feel free to close/delete/move whatever.

Ok, so I came out in junior high, and ever since the seventh grade, I've been known to pretty much everyone as "They Gay Kid". Now, a senior, graduating in just a few months, I'm still known as that! I hate it! Am I going to leave high school as simply that?

One of my classes is a junior science class (I failed second half of Chem.) and since I don't know anyone in the class, I just sit in the back and don't talk to anyone. One day, we're doing a packet, so I go up and ask my teacher a question, I sit down and (like all teachers do), he says this:

"Tyler just asked a question about *blah blah blah*" then a few rows up, I hear one of the kids turn to his friend and say "Who's Tyler?". In which came the reply "I think it's that little f****t in the back".

What the hell? Even kids who don't know me refer to me as the gay kid!

yup i'm gonna have to agree with the Grey fox in they all sound like dicks... And maybe you shouldn't take that statement from the younger kids seriously as in my school they just use it as an add-on word: Prick, dick.....Faggot they all mean the same thing in blunt sentences of juniors..

Seriously, I wouldn't let it bother you. I have the same reputation in my school...sort of. Yeah people can call you names like faggot and all that. but, theres a reason you dont associate with them. They don't know you very well, and its just a part of being openly gay in an openly homophobic environment. I say get through your classes. Get out of Highschool. and Move on with your life, you live it your way, they can live it theirs.

as much as i know about high school but you've only got a year left of it so get it over with and then fuck off out of that area and start a new in college which is a much wider and more accepting communtiy ( as to my understanding of american educational system:rolleyes:)

Yeah I was in the same position as you. But I'm in college now. Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. Just push through these next years or so and it's uphill from then on. Funny thing is though I'm not even gay. XD Just feminine.

a friend of mine the same way. Referred to by the whole class, but for us it's a joke and he gets with it. if you're actually tired of it,

all you can do is tell them that you are a person and that they might have the exact same orientation, or someone that they know will be gay. Give them a picture in their mind that will make them stop.
