A 12-year-old Yemeni child bride died after struggling to give birth for three days, a local human rights organisation said.
Fawziya Abdullah Youssef died of severe bleeding on Friday while giving birth to a stillborn in the al-Zahra district hospital of Hodeida province, 140 miles west of the capital Sanaa.

Also - healthcare is not good enough there.
In 4 years time, when i'm qualified, I will go there, and reform it so that problems such as she had with the birth don't happen.
I don't think i'd be able to stop child brides though :(

That really is very sad. for one, kids shouldn't be married that young, and for two, DEFINETLY shouldn't be having children.
Health care over there sucks too, which dosen't help.

OK, so my own opinion, as the OP, is that this is a really horrible story. The trouble is its probably not that unusual. How many more cases go unreported? Isnt it kind of ironic that our society can get hung up at the thought of a 17 year old boy having sex with a 15 year old girl, when in huge areas of the world a guy in his 40s or 50s can be married to a 12 year old and cause her death through a pregnancy that her body is not equiped to deal with.
What a sick world we live in.

i really hope that they change the health care system up there so that sh would have a better chance of survival.

Thats horrible, she shouldn't even be having sex at that age. Hopefully things do change there!
