Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift's Speech at MTV VMA's

Kanye West has officially lost it! While at the 2009 MTV VMA's Kanye rudely interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for 'Best Female Video' by grabbing the mic from her and acknowledging Beyonce instead.

Beyonce was up against Taylor and lost, which clearly angered Kanye.

Kanye grabbed the mic from Taylor and said, "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you , I'm going to let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time...one of the best of all time!"

The audience then booed him until MTV cut to a clip. Unbelievable! You would think a 32-year-old man would know better than to insult a 19 year-old girl, but Kanye clearly doesn't.

According to MTV.com, once cameras cut away from the action, West flipped off the crowd and returned to his seat.

R&B queen Beyonce has saved the day at the MTV Music Awards by letting humiliated country music singer Taylor Swift finish an acceptance speech interrupted by Kanye West.

West had ruined the young singer's moment of glory when he cut her off as she accepted the MTV Video Music Awards prize for Best Female Video.

Swift had just started her thank-yous when the diminutive impresario snatched the microphone from her.

"I'm really happy for you and I'll let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time … one of the best videos of all time!" West said.

His outburst was greeted by a chorus of boos from the crowd before they rose to give a stunned Swift a standing ovation as she was helped from the stage.

The camera turned to Beyonce, who clearly looked horrified at the turn of events and at being dragged into the incident.

She later made it up to Swift when 'Single Ladies' picked up Video of the Year ahead Britney Spears, Eminem, West and Lady Gaga.

"I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV Award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life, so I’d like Taylor to come out and have her moment," she said.

Taylor finally got her time in the spotlight, thanking family and friends before saying: "I’d like to thank all the fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer.

Thank you so much!"

Taylor and Beyonce hugged both before and after the speech.

Despite the patch-up, West's outburst left a sour taste — and it's not the first time the egomaniacal producer of hits for Alicia Keys, Ludacris and Janet Jackson has butted in.

He walked on stage during the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards when Justice and Simian won the best video award and posed in front of them before unleashing abuse.

"Share the wealth … this video cost a million dollars! I had Pam Anderson, I jumped across a f****** canyon," he said.

"If I don't win, the award show loses credibility … it's nothing against you, I've never seen your video but … hell no!"

West also caused controversy while performing on a Hurricane Katrina benefit concert, when he told a live TV audience that "George Bush doesn't care about black people".

Former Destiny's Child singers Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have 'tweeted' to describe their disgust at Kanye West's on-stage protest against country star Taylor Swift at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

The rapper stunned the star-studded crowd when he stormed the stage as gracious Swift was thanking fans for voting her as the Best Female Video award winner - her first ever MTV VMA trophy.

West told the crowd how he believed fellow nominee Beyonce was the true winner, grabbing the mic from Swift and shouting, "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."
