MM.... sorry if there is a thread about this already. I kinda did a search, and only skimmed like the first 2 pages, and my eyes didn't get attention to the topic i want to suggest so....

Is there a way for the Moderators to like, lock/delete 4wk+ old threads? so that there won't be thread bumpings and so people don't accidently post in it (like me, i forget to look at the thread date sometimes).?

And.. again.. sorry if there is a thread about this already, or in rules.. i kinda forgot the rules ever since school started... too many AP classes that are making me memorize a butt load of stuff

I get that feeling i posted this in wrong place...=T --Edit

Well. other than reporting, cuz what if someone posts in like 20 really old threads? it will be annoying to keep doing it over and over again

You don't have to report them.
It's just really helpful to the staff.

If you got to know the people here, and get to know about the other parts of the forums, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

You should always look at the first post to know what is going on and when you look at it check the date (unless its stickied or a 100+ post thread.)

In some cases it is important for threads to stay open, but, to my knowledge, the general reason for not locking threads over four weeks old or so is because having a bunch of locked threads around the place can give VT a bad look, makes it seem like a place that isn't open about things.

Not all old threads get locked if the op bumps or it's something that really can't get old then at times we allow them to remain open. Also different forums have different rule like the 4th wall pretty much has no bump date since all of them can relate today. Just report the old ones and we'll sort them out.

I'm pretty certain that this isn't going to happen. It creates too much work on the mods part to have to go and search for 4+ week old threads and then lock each one. It's part of the rules that memebers shouldn't bump threads. Moderators shouldn't have to cope for people's lack of regard for the rules and the site or general lack awareness.

We have enough staff on the forum to handle the occasional bumped thread. As previously said, just report the post and it will be seen to fairly quickly.

yup, I used to live on p101. I've moved about a bit now. the rest of the forum is good too!

Really I think that locking old threads seems really unwelcoming to members. I mean it's just...closed off and unwelcoming. Not saying that new members should post in old threads, but it's a good way to put people off. So yeah...no
