I think that to make some topics easier to understand a persons profile should show there sexuality so we understand a bit more abou the situation they are in if they make a post about a problem that might involve such topics. It would be an option to include that in your info that appears when you make a post to so that people can see it there, where it would matter most. Plus, it might make some people more comfortable to talk to someone if they know that the person is the same and knows exactly what they are talking about. Know what I mean??

The problem with that is it can also attract pedophiles and other perverts to your profile.
I would prefer that people ask me or read my post to find out about my sexuality.

Yes. If you have a problem with your sexuality, then you need to describe the situation to the fullest in your post.
Otherwise, It's not like anyone cares about your sexuality.
You're a human, just like anyone else.

I don't have a problem with my sexuality I just don't think it needs to be advertised so I have a bunch of noobs PMing me asking to trade pictures and wanting to cam with them.

That was sort of directed towards the OP, Rob. :)

Yeah, if we had "15, gay, Hicktown USA", there would be a lot of perverts asking for cam, and all that stuff. If you have a problem regarding sexuality it isn't that hard to type "I'm gay/bi/lesbian/transgender and...".

No point. VT isn't a social networking site and it would only cause people to contact others based on their sexuality.

If you see something like this.
Use the report button.
Otherwise, you're being a backseat mod. :)
I think I'm being one, too. Sorry.

That is no where near bad enough to be reported.

That's not what I'm saying.
I'm saying that when things start to get somewhat rude, a moderator is to step in and keep the peace.
Am I right?

I'm gonna have to go with a no on this. It gives the impression that this is a dating site and that isn't something we want here.

Yes!
That too.
It would bring FAR more creeps than the norm.

Well another thing is that its not relevant to a lot of areas on the site. If you're posting in a self harm thread or in general discussion for example what the hell does it matter what your sexuality is?

It's turned into a bit of a dating site. xP
But yeah, I agree with the majority here.
It's a no.
It would attract the wrong type of people and there's really no need for it. ;)

I wouldn't think it would be good. As everyone else said, it would attract the wrong kind of people. If someone wants to share their sexuality, put it in your sig, or the post you are making, or your bio.

At first i thought it was a cool idea, but then I forgot that there are little pervs on here that prevent us from having a lot of privileges.
I think that the idea was good, because then you could see the diversity here, and what that person is like but people shouldn't have to be forced to put a sexuality as an option...and even so, even if there is an option to disclose, that means you're hiding something.
Also, don't even think about how a "curious" option (as an option to have as your sexuality) will work out. I mean seriously?
"Hey, I'm curious and ur curious 2, want to cam?"

Probably never.
There will always be those people, and bringing this into the mix would only make it worse.

i agree with zach's thoughts completely. at first glance i thought it was a good idea too. but then you have all the issues that everyone else has brought up.

The idea itself is already bad to begin with..
Understanding a persons problems by knowing his/her sexuality is.. Well if its related somehow its 99 out of 100 times in the OP
Also I'm going to be cruel and say this is a site full of teenagers who proclaim change in their sexuality every other month so this wouldn't just be some perv attraction or promote us as a dating site but it would also piss me off which in general is a hideous crime

Yea, You can always post it on your profile so people should stop being lazy and just look at the persons profile.
