So, yesterday I found white mushrooms that looked like P. Semilanceata(magic mushroom), except that they had white gills(Semilanceata has black gills). So, I started thinking that they probably arent magic mushrooms, but some part of me still believed that they may be hallucinogenic, so... I went and ate 5 caps(they were pretty small) at 9:25 PM.

I dont know were they poisonous. I dont even know what shrooms they were and I was damn stupid when I ate them. I have no symptoms yet, except a minor fatique, but it may be because I didnt sleep so well. No diarrhea, cramps or anything. I would be happy if someone would know what mushrooms they were.

This may be my end, I dont have enough courage to tell my parents, they would never forgive me that I was planning to do drugs.

I'm failing to see why you think they're poisonous.

They just may be.

If you're so paranoid, try to find out what sort of mushrooms grow in your area and see if you can learn what exactly it was that you ate.

If they haven't harmed you by now, chances are they aren't poisonous. The poisonous effects of mushrooms can be alarming, but usually pass within 24 hours. If you begin to suspect mushroom poisoning, see a doctor immediately.

Good luck, and stop eating unidentified mushrooms.

Well, considering that Liberty caps are not in season yet, at least in england, they come into season mid october. It is unlikely that they would have been the right type in any case.

plus the gills are actually a browny purple, the tops should be brown with an aberish tint to them, the stalk should be very wiggly. and should bruise purple if you gently nudge it with your fingers.

Happy hunting mate. but DON'T pick any mushrooms if you don't know what they are. Do some serious research first.
If the ones you picked were actually poisonus you would probably be either vomiting your guts out or dead. and oh yeh the illegality of it blah blah blah. there you go. nice disclaimer.

To put my statement in perspective, i should refer you to this page. this is why you NEED to know what you're after.
Because these suckers are white, have white gills, and are absolute little fuckers.

Incase you decide to go hunting again, I'll NOT post you this link of mushrooms to avoid because they are deadly http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deadly_fungi

peace

Noh, the mushrooms i ate werent Destroying angels. They had a lot more thinner stem, just like in Psilocybe Semilanceata. I found a picture mushroom that looks just like the mushrooms I ate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mycena_cyanorrhiza, except that my mushrooms didnt have a blue base.

Aha, yeh man, it's all too often so easy to pick ones that look similar but aren't. they are actually reffered to most of the time as "little brown mushrooms" meaning the thousands of species that look similar but can be icky.

Jut thought i'd mention, for reference, the stalks on the mycena shroomies are NOTHING like the ones on liberty caps, liberty caps are all demented and wiggly :)

Yeah, but when I saw them at the forest, I thought those must be P. Semilanceata, but when I checked it from the internet, I realized that they arenīt.

I know this was yesterday, but if it happens in the future, your best bet is to call a poison control center and describe the mushrooms to them. They are much more likely to be able to help you.

Or, better yet, your could stop using mushrooms.

I'm sorry, but eating something when you don't know what it is is ridiculously stupid.
Why?

Believe me, my friend, it's not worth it.

mate. they are more likely to grow in sheep or cow fields. and they don't and never have grown in forests. unless you're trying to look for amanitas in which case i fully agree with obsidian. them fuckers are lethal.

I personally don't think its not worth it when you have done resaerch and know what you're looking for though. but that's a different topic altogether.

"Psilocybe semilanceata (liberty cap) is a psychedelic mushroom that contains the psychoactive compound psilocybin. It grows on grassy meadows and similar; particularly in wet, north-facing fields and other habitats well fertilized by sheep and cattle feces, although unlike Psilocybe cubensis it does not grow directly on the dung itself. It is found in fieldswhere animals graze throughout the cool temperate and subarctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and it is most common in "Newfoundland and Labrador, Europe, Russia, India, Peru and the Pacific Northwest United States and Northeastern North America."[1][2]"

failing this.

READ. BEFORE. YOU. LOOK. FOR. THINGS. :D
If i come back and you've done yourself over with the wrong mushrooms. I'm not going to be impressed.

Those mushrooms probably werent poisonous, at least not deadly. If they were, I probably would be in hellfull pains now, right?

I'm sure you're fine. Those mushrooms probably aren't even in your system anymore at this point, it's been about four days. If you're going to react to food it can happen anywhere from nearly immediately to as much as several hours later, generally speaking. After four days you can pretty much say that you're not going to have a reaction to eating it.

You've learned your lesson though--never eat any plant if you don't know for sure what I is. Especially a fungus since they're known for being harmful and/or deadly if you eat the wrong ones, it's common for people to get very sick from eating random mushrooms.

You'd probably by puking up a storm and possibly out the back-door too. As for having any awful pains, you may and you may have other physiological effects depending on the actual toxins within the mushroom. Point is, you're not poisoned from the ones you ate or if you were, then it was so unnoticable that it didn't matter.

Moral of the story is, learn about whatever you're going to play with before you jump into the play pin. Also, if you are still willing to go out and eat whatever mushrooms, before you do yourself in, have a phone handy with reception and with the Poison Control Center's number.

hmmmm..... is it possible that it might be a slow acting toxin or poison?

hmmmm..... is it possible that it might be a slow acting toxin or poison?

At this point, it's been nearly 2 weeks since the mushrooms were ingested. I doubt it's that slow-acting. Just a random mushroom with no real positive or negative effects.
