Two short poems

These two short poems originally appeared in my blog back in May but have never been posted here before. You could call them before and after. Those of you who were with me on skype last night should have no trouble understanding.

Give me back my mind

Another day begun
another morn has broken
my love is far away
how can I send a token?

O noisesome world be still,
to tell this is my duty
that neath life's raging storm
in silence there is beauty.


No more poems now

I sent my love a gift
to show my love was tender,
she sent it back to me
marked "return to sender".

I do not blame my love
for making me so smitten.
I'll save my love for now,
and keep it for the kitten.

I should clarify before you all jump to the wrong conclusion that the kitten in the second poem is in fact a cat, as referred to in this earlier poem (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=44641). My friendship with Matt was less far advanced at that date and in any case his username was Metallica619 and his avatar was not a cat.
