Before I start I'm going to say I am in no way saying to that you should meet up with people online but really if you're going to do it then you might as well be safe.

1. Tell Your Parents!: Really they know what's best if you are ever going to meet someone online then your parents should know about that person as well.

2. Don't Go Alone: Always bring someone with you just in case things don't go to good. You might think you know and trust your online friend but really over the net they can be anyone.

3. A Public Place: Never meet somewhere secluded or dark always make it a crowded store or a public park, that way if something goes wrong you have witnesses and someone can help you.

4. Webcam Meet First: In order to really see who they are than it's best to see them on cam preferably a video call that way you can make sure it's not prerecorded.

That's pretty much the basic stuff off the top of my head but really make it as safe as possible like bring your cell phone too.

5) Don't meet IRL anyone who you haven't talked to for a long time. Even if they are your age, someone can usually lie about their personality for some time, so you still might be meeting a creeper even if you got your age

Time frame doesn't matter much because they can carry on a lie for as long as they need to.

To go along with a public place. NEVER meet a person at their house, that is not a public place. Try meeting at a cafe or restaurant or arcade or someplace safe with a lot of people. And like one of the tips said, NEVER go alone. Always have someone you know and trust along with you.

I don't get it either. You didn't even double-post.

Nice guide though, by the way. :)

Haha Paula, not cool! What if he'd tried to kidnap you! No one would know except your friend waiting for you at the theatre and all of the zillions of people who would have seen you kick his butt! xP

be very careful, you don't know who you are dealing with online, unless you have already met them in person (kids your own age), otherwise, you could be chatting with adults, same or opposite sex to you. best thing to do is not chat online with people you do not already know, at least for any length of time, and NEVER EVER EVER give out any personal information, use webcams (where you can't see the other person your same age on the other end). Bottom line, don't trust the internet (sorry to sound so negative, but the internet CAN be a very dangerous thing). stick to in person relationships for the most part, it is more healthy and safe.

Lol. I don't do a single one of those things and I have some great online friends. Infact, the most amazing people I know are on the internet.
