When I logged on to VT today I found a curious message from a banned user (JayOne) in my inbox:

"Fancy going cam 2 cam? Im 16-f-UK. If you got a cam add me on Digsby MSN. My username is [not important]

What I want to know is (considering I'm new) how common is this kind of thing? and have I just avoided being ensnared by a peadophile or missed out on web-cam fun with a nubile 16yo?

It's just a spammer/advertiser. As you've seen the user is banned, so the staff have already dealt with it.

If you are ever suspicious about a PM you get, click the red triangle to report it to the staff, then they can deal with the problem. It's not often we get people spamming via PMs though.

Unfortunately the Puberty section of our website attracts people who want to see others naked, pedophiles, horny teens, advertisers, trolls, spammers, and others.

This is an example of either a pedophile, a horny teenager, or a troll. This happens occasionally on the forums. And will probably happen to you less as you mature as a member.

When you encounter a Private Message like this, you need to report the PM using the http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/images/styles/fblue/buttons/report.gif button.

If the user was already banned, they probably got in trouble for a similar thing and were already caught.

Safety is a important thing here and we need to keep it under check. You can help us by reporting posts if you see something fishy. :cool:

Ya I never got one of those either, probably was just some old pedophile. Its wrong though. At least she was banned though. And its not very common here.

Well you don't get many female cammers but camming with a female would probably render a person that you don't deem attractive (unless youre one of the kinky bitches :P)

umm, i have never got one of those...then again i have a kajillion posts and i was a mod, so i think i detur those kind of PMs automatically.

However, when you get one, all you have to do is press the report button and it will help the staff as well as other memebrs greatly

Be sure to report stuff like that! We need to get rid of these people. Not just tell them "no thanks".

Also, who knows for a fact that it was a female cammer? Couldn't they easily lie? Yah u guyz!
