I pluck the petals from the flower
But I ask not if she loves me
I know she does so true
Yet still I pull them one by one
Because I know I love her too
For every petal that hits the floor
I feel the love rush through me
The softest petals and the brightest rose
Gently reach the ground
As I repeat the words I love their sound
She loves you, tells me the first petal
You love her, says the next
The rose will not stop telling me
That within this love there is no not
She loves me, I repeat
Another petal floats to the floor
I love her, I recite
The last one lands near the door
Slowly I open it
As my heart skips a beat
For what I see could kill me
This distance is a feat
Onward a trail of petals leads
Over miles of land
I still see her face
So beautiful and sweet
I follow the trail
As each petal sings
With her voice on every key
Soon together we can be
I’ll run forever
She knows I will
Every step I’ll cherish
For my heart has been filled
But I ask not if she loves me
I know she does so true
Yet still I pull them one by one
Because I know I love her too
For every petal that hits the floor
I feel the love rush through me
The softest petals and the brightest rose
Gently reach the ground
As I repeat the words I love their sound
She loves you, tells me the first petal
