Unfortunately it's something that I think you'll have to wait to 'grow out of'.
There's lots of things you can try though that help your skin in general. This is like drinking plenty of water to flush your system, getting vitamins in (particularly vit. B, from green vegetables, or a multivitamin), like vit b-5 (pantoethnic acid) is apparently good for acne. Also changing your bed covers regularly, particularly pillow cases and obviously your sheets to try and prevent any body acne, like on back/shoulders/chest.

Go to your pharmacy and buy a face wash that is speciffically designed for skin with acne. It will work a lot better than normal soap. I think that hormones play a major role in acne, so time will also help.
If you suffer from bad acne, a trip to you doctors/dermatologist will be a great help, they will often provide you with suitable advice or treatment of some form, tablets, creams etc.

You'll be pleased to hear that acne is caused by testosterone, so it has its compensations!
Washing your face with soap twice a day is possibly the worst thing that can be done for teenage skin! Although you are right about keeping it relatively sterile, the soap dries out your skin, does nothing to exfoliate and will cause even more oil (a leading contributory factor of spots/acne) secreted into your skin.
My best advice would be to fine a specially formulated, GENTLE yes exfoliating face wash, and use it as per recommendations.
Tea tree, Witch Hazel and some herb oils are very good natural spot fighting compounds, as they contain natural antiseptics, and can heal and soothe the skin. My current favourite is by Lush and it is called Grease Lightning, it literally zaps spots away!
Anyway, it will all clear up in a few years anyway!
Oh yeah, DO NOT PICK AT THEM OR SCRATCH THEM! (I'm not sure about squeezing though... I guess it's ok, so long as you then don't disturb the scab too much...)
This causes serious scarring, which will last forever. :(
If it isn't eased at all by correct skin care, then GP's can prescribe hormone replacement pill thingies, I know they definitely work on girls, but for guys it may not work at all.. Or have the wrong effect! lol

:D Wash your face with soap...
...but use nettle soap, it works a treat!
Also grey fox is right about the tea tree oil.

Acne can't always be treated with just over-the-counter products. in fact, they often don't do the job very well for most people. Washing your face is mandatory, but even using acne-specific products may not help. If you find that's the case here, see your doctor. They may be able to prescribe something, or can recommend a dermatologist who can. Even I need to use prescription products, and my acne isn't even very bad---just persistent. To be honest, I thought my acne was just normal zits until I went in for a check-up on my eczema and the dermatologist said, "So, what are doing about that acne?" xP
Most drug store products are more for run-of-the-mill pimples, but acne can be a different story as it is a medical condition. So, get it checked out!

You could try oxy/clearasol.
last year my acne was terrible, was at the doctors about something and at the end I asked him about my acne and what he recommended.
He gave me a 2 month course of oxyacetylene and it worked excellently and they faded quickly, I occasionally get a few spots but I'm over the acne stage now so I don't have to use anything to get rid of them.
hope this helps :)

Try just simply washing/scrubbing it with a face washer every morning and evening. Works great for me - it doesn't completely get rid of the acne, but it sure reduces the amount. A few days without doing this and a whole bunch of whiteheads burst out on my skin :(

I don't think there really is a cure for acne as most teenagers are bound to experience it in puberty. The severity of acne varies within different people as some people get it very bad and others don't really get it at all.
Most face washes and creams from supermarkets as such rarely work, you need to see a dermatologist or doctor for effective products. Although there are plenty of ways you can prevent acne though by ensuring you drink plenty of water, eat healthily, get enough sleep, DON'T touch your face as the bacteria on your hands spreads on to your skin causing unwanted blemishes and always remember to wash your face properly.

You could try a gel with salicylic(spelling?) acid in it, it does wonders for me.
You should go to your doctor, if it stays this bad.

Your doctor can provide you with a prescription for that. If you can't be bothered to go see your doctor then try a home remedy, as they seem to work better than OTC products. Honey & nutmeg mix works for me when I have a breakout. The honey prevents bacteria from growing and the nutmeg with really clean your pours. Hm, toothpaste on a zit over night will also drop any swelling. Witch's Hazel is a good face cleanser and you might want to use that in substitute of all the soap/water because that soap will only make your face dry.

I use special stuff my dermatologist gave me. It helps a little. My sister had this milk-type thing I forgot what it was called but it helped alot. Its creamy and hardens fast and comes in a blue kind of bottle and you open it and use a cotton ball to apply it to your face, it hardens in 2 minutes and you wash it off.

I have severe cystic acne, which is the worst kind of acne. Acne, even when mild is a medical condition, and should be discussed with your doctor. My doctor offered to put me on Accutane, but that stuff is highly dangerous, and I don't recommend it. Instead, I'm taking Tetracycline, a broad-spectrum anti-biotic for my acne. It works wonders. Even if you have very little acne, talk it over with your doctor, or just see a dermatologist. They'll help you out!

In the night put toothpaste ONLY to the effected area ONLY. put a band aid on it so it wont get messy on your bed then wake up it "should" be gone. idk if this works but alot of people use this technique.

Listerine works 10x better. It drys fast and it takes very little time to work. Like two days. My 19 year old sister keeps a tiny bottle in her bathroom.

Take a cotton swab or ball and put some on it and dab the spots. Message me if anything happens tomorrow or in a few days.

FYI putting something over your zit will only make it hotter and cause your pours to expand and not shrink. Putting a band aid over it isn't a good idea unless you want a planet to grow on your face.

Acne will be ther always and forever. My adivse to get rid of your acne is to use those facial creams they advertise on the televisions. MOST of them work. I use Proactiv, helps a bundle.
Acne is cause by many reason such as stress, eating junkfood, oil build up, and much more. It isn't impossible to get rid of acne, but it will always be there. My mom still gets acne occasionally and she is about 55, or somewhere around there.

I had a little acne till I started to work out on a regular basis and sitting in the sauna afterwards. You sweat through your pores. A clogged skin pore will quickly turn into a pimple and the puss you squeeze out is what clogs it. When you sweat that white puss turns clear and becomes a liquid that easily flows out with your sweat and toxins. You can reduce the extent of your acne if you work out hard often and sit in a sauna.(2x a week or more) Work out "Hard" meaning you break a sweat during the first half and continue to sweat for the second half for at least 15min. How ever, the thing that I believe, from my own experiences, helps the most is to sit in a sauna for 15 minutes. Drink lots of water in the sauna to help you sweat and get more out when you sweat.
My results: went from a fair amount acne to absolutely none in just 6 months.
PS: 15 min. is a healthy amount of time to spend in a sauna but if you stay in longer, say 10min. or 20min. extra, there is a good chance you will pass out because your body can not properly cool its self and a 180 degree room is one of the last places you want to pass out
PSS: you should be doing this any way to stay healthy.
