i know how you feel about the friend thing, and honestly i think she still does care more than you think but if shes never been through somthing like that then she probably doesn't know what to say, and if she really has ask you to stop in the past then maybe she doesn't know what else to do to help. maybe you just need to sit her down and talk to her one on one and tell her how you feel.
