i would defenatly upgrade grapfics card to atleast a gforce 8600gt with 1024 kb ram, atleast 2gb of RAM for windows unless you have a dual core processor u will need to upgrade to atleast a 1.86 dual core or more whick will mean u need a new motherboard , which might basiclt mean buying a new pc is cheaper than upgrading at this point in time

I would go with what the above poster said. Getting a new PC will obviously be a lot better than trying to upgrade your current computer.

Yea you can buy high end computers for under 1200. My laptop cost 1400$ but it works great for gaming the only problem is it gets hot, I prefer a laptop so I can go to friends/cousins homes and still play games but they do cost more

well i would say most motherboards now are PCIE so i think you can take your pick from the range, if you are daring to upgrade the old pc then you have no chance cos AGP has been phased ou almost with any good cards.

Build your own if you can. I always think that it's stupid when companies have a high end processor with a crappy video card at the $800-$1200 price range.
What matters is the video card. I built a computer and paid more for the card than anything else. I have a really low end CPU and a high end video card and games play so much better than if I had gone the other way around.
Specs: Pentium Dual-Core E5200, 4GB RAM, & Radeon HD 4870.
