A man who was glued to a toilet seat after falling victim to a prank in Cairns had to be taken to hospital with the seat still attached, according to police.
Another man also fell victim to pranksters at the Cairns Central shopping mall toilets, a police spokesman told ninemsn.
Police found "hairs and pieces of skin" stuck to the other seat, leading them to believe a second man had also become glued but had ripped himself off the seat.
Ambulance and police workers were called to the mall after a 57-year-old man could not free himself from the seat.
The man attracted attention to his plight by screaming, according to an employee at a nearby shop.
"We could hear him yelling 'help' and trying to sing out for someone to save him," the employee told ninemsn.
"Apparently the police had to unscrew the toilet seat and he walked out with it still attached."
The employee said police covered the man with a blanket and ushered him out an emergency fire exit so he would not have to walk through the mall.
Cairns Central Manager Derek Ariss said the mall was not a "hot spot" for teenage pranks.
"Teenagers do pranks, anybody does pranks — but it's no different to anywhere else" Mr Ariss said.
"We just want to urge these people to take into consideration that they could be seriously injuring people."
The 57-year-old sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Cairns Police District's Superintendant Brent Carter told the Cairns Post that he was "ropeable" about the apparent prank.
"I think it's probably a prank but it's a pretty sick sort of a joke," Supt Carter told the newspaper.
"The humiliation of sitting on a toilet while emergency services are working around you trying to free you — then having to be wheeled out of the shopping centre with the toilet frame still attached to your body is just dreadful."
Police are investigating the incident.
