I really dont have much time, but I wanted to bring this up before I forgot. What is you all's opinion about the immigration debate going on in the USA?

The US of A was founded by immigration. Therefore kicking out all the immigrants doesn’t make since. I do understand the right of the common “legal” American to “keep there job” but that is not the fault of the illegal immigrants. It is the fault of the person employing them.

ok look im Latino and im not illegal but like wat everyone should understand is that yes this counmtry is full of immigrants but its just that the whole Mexico is going " America is where your dreams can become true" but like they come here and they cant get jobs, and if they do its really bad jobs. and besides Mexicos economy isnt that bad i mean yeh its not as good as the US's but still. the ppl in like Africa nad some parts of Asia need to come here because like in West Agfrica u can get killed na dno body cares. and also they are not criminals for this and like they should not just send them bak and like the government in Mexico has to tell ppl to stop crossing the borders. Illegal immigrents are often hired for less than minimum wage, with no benefits. The ER departments of every border state say that they are overwhelmed with patients who can't produce ID or health insurance, so we are paying a good bit for their health care. For every drug carrying criminal, there are at least twenty good people trying to feed their families, but we can not have an open border with no criminal background checks.

as a moderator its not just my job to make sure you follwo rules, but to also try and work with you to be more open minded and accetping. There may be people in your life that give off a bad impression, but we have to reolize that this is a representation of an individual, not a entire group of people. yes, america is the home to where everybody goes to to be free.

its true a lot of illegal immigrants dont pay taxes but a lot suprisingly do...i would get proof but i am lazy and this comp is slow...anyway that doesnt mean im against it.....i belive people should have legally gotten into this country...if they didnt....grr i hold a grudge agains them (sorry bout that teenhelp) but oh well whats done is done....what i think is simpiliy outragous is when they don't teach their kids english...mexican americans are hard workers, but for the most part they shouldnt have to be they came here to work for the most part, and have their familys a better life...all the good reasons not for drugs or anything....but when they dont teach their kids to speak english their kids don't really care too because they are ignorant at the time (every kid would be unless they are like little kid geniouses :)) and then they cant get the best job they could have....also that creates a giant language barrior its harder for everybody to get a job because a lot of people need to be fluent with english and spanish......so i think it all will just come down to language in the end...

exactly. I came here, and I am now legal, so like. Well, it's difficult. I mean, it's hard to get accepted into a country, but at the same time, sometimes you need to get away from where you ar,e or you need to get into a certain country. I don't support illegal immigration, but yet, I have to understand it, as I've been there.

EDIT: I MUST add that I think if you come to a country, you need to speak the language/ languages CLEARLY and understandably. I'm tired of going to the fucking coffee shop and the person behind the counter doesn't know what "tea" means.

Seriously though in Western Canada anyway (i cant speak for eastern never really been there) I can't see anyone being treated diffrently because there from england, ireland, south korea, etc..

Did I ever say that they shouldn't be here to make a living? No. I welcome all immagrants to come and make as much money as possible. It's the illegals that should not. That is just it. You possibly can't think Mexicans are hired because they are more qualified than Americans, do you? Do you realize why they are hired? Because an employer would rather pay an illegal, say 3 dollars an hour, where as an American who is legal, would get payed 7 due to minimun wage laws. Now what would you rather do? o.k. I've thought about it and have come up with this:
it is true that the united states is being flooded with illegal immigrants.
some experts estimate there to be 12 million puls living in the united states today.
I understand the effect this is having on our economy.
so what i support is....instead of kicking out 12 million hard working people and completly destroying our economy, we should instead, forget out those allready living here, let them gain citizenship etc like normal.
we should (i know it sounds bad but let me finish) control the populas comming into our country by making a fence on each border, and patroling it.
people would then be forced to enter by legal means, and thus, we could control the population of immigransts much better then we have been.
the united states is one of the most powerful countries in the word, yet we have some of the weakest borders.
this is rather disturbing to me, i don't know about you.
