Before I start, this is not an illegal hack and if i am breaking ANY rules by posting this, let me know before you ban me lol ok?.

So, my dad put parental controls on my computer a while bac, and i have found a way to hack them off.
(I know its wrong to do that, but all i could do was scroll through Finder and play with my Wi-Fi. Seriously.)

So what it does is it will create an admin account without screwing your computer.

Write all this down (you'll want it)

1. reboot and hold down CMND + S until you see a black screen with white text.
2. when its all done loading, type the command:
sbin/mount -uw /
Press RETURN
3. Type the next command:
rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
Press RETURN
4. Type the last command:
reboot

The computer will restart. If it starts up normally, repeat steps 1-4 and check to make sure you type it right. if it starts up in setup mode, then continue to step five.

5. Enjoy the video and follow the on screen instructions. Enjoy your new admin account!

Again, PLEASE let me know if this is against any rules!

If the computer is 5+ years old will this still work?

This is not a hack in any way shape or form dude, so no need to worry about getting banned or warned.
It's simple commands.
Anyone who's fimilar with UNIX can recognize that. :p

Step 1 that you gave, puts your mac into single-user mode (Basically like booting into a command prompt for windows users).
Step 2 tells the command prompt to mount the hard drive, and make it writable.
Step 3 tells the OS to run setup at next reboot.

@ Mars, it should. Since Macs have run off of UNIX since, well, forever, and all of those are UNIX commands.

Creating an admin account with out anyone noticing is not a hack, hacks are breaking into email, websites, other computes.

Well a school network is a completely different game you create an administrative account on that, will make people really mad and get the computer revoked.
