I would imagine any guy in that unfortunate situation would have been told what was possible by his doctors.

If they can give a woman a sex change surely some sort of reconstruction would be possible? But really I have no idea. However if his testicles are undamaged you can bet your life there would be some way to extract sperm even if not through normal sex.
